be considered. An opportunity is available for a Registered Nurse
(RN) specializing in Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR) care on a
13-week contract basis. This role requires a professional with a
minimum of two years' cardiac nursing experience, including general
nursing skills, and a focus on surgical services. The position is
designed for candidates who enjoy a dynamic operating room
environment involving complex cardiac surgeries such as CABG,
TAVRs, and general thoracic procedures. Key Responsibilities:
Conduct initial and ongoing patient assessments in collaboration
with an interdisciplinary team. Coordinate comprehensive
perioperative care, including preoperative, intraoperative, and
postoperative phases. Ensure safety and comfort for patients during
surgery, anticipating surgical team needs. Administer medications
and treatments in line with state regulations and internal
policies. Maintain sterile techniques and assist with surgical
equipment and documentation. Participate in quality improvement
initiatives and advocate for patient safety. Provide education,
support, and discharge instructions to patients and families.
Qualifications and Desired Experience: Current RN license in a
state covered by the nursing compact or local licensure. Minimum of
2 years cardiac experience with at least 1-2 years in general
nursing. Dysrhythmia Exam completion required (study guides
available). Certification in BLS, ACLS, NIH mandatory; PALS, CNOR,
and SGNA preferred. Prior travel nursing experience is a plus.
Strong clinical knowledge of perioperative standards, including
AORN and SGNA. Ability to manage high-stress situations with
professionalism and resilience. Schedule: Day shift hours, Monday
through Friday. Primary shifts from 6:30 AM to 3:00 PM for 8 hours,
with occasional 10-hour shifts. On-call rotation every six weeks
covering cardiac calls, with weekend and weekday shifts. Location
