Job Description & Requirements • Specialty: Med Surg / Telemetry • Discipline: RN • Start Date: • Duration: 13 weeks • 36 hours per week • Shift: 12 hours • Employment Type: Travel Job Description American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Tele position on an acute stroke unit, requiring an active NY license and proficiency in Epic. Responsibilities • Work in an acute stroke unit within a tertiary care hospital • Unit cares for acute stroke, neurological, and acute medical patients • Patient population includes post PCI, pacemakers, AICDs, and post MI cases • Typical patient ratios range from 1:5 to 1:7 on Med/Surg • Both day (7:00-19:00) and night (19:00-7:hour shifts available • Floating to comparable units is required • Uses Epic charting system • Responsibilities include management of acute stroke and cardiac patients, emergency response, and non-invasive airway management • Must adhere to isolation precautions and infection prevention protocols • Scrub color is any combination of navy and white • Required to complete facility modules prior to start, up to 5 billable hours • Return staff must not have worked at the facility within the past year • Holiday and weekend coverage may be required according to unit needs • Approved time off must be requested at submission Requirements • Active NY RN license in hand required • Minimum of 1 year recent Med/Surg Tele RN experience • BLS certification required • Proficiency in Epic charting required • Ability to interpret and manage cardiac dysrhythmias, and respond to emergencies • Peripheral IV therapy and phlebotomy skills required • Must live at least 75 miles from the facility Benefits • High Pay and Bonuses • Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance with Day 1 Options • 401(k) Plan • Weekly Payroll Deposit • Free Online CEUs • Generous Housing Allowance • Travel and Licensure Reimbursements • Non-taxed Per Diem and Subsidy • Traveler Rewards and Discounts American Traveler Job ID P.
