Job Title: Clinical Applications Analyst - Altera TouchWorks with
HL7 experience
Position Overview:
The experienced Clinical Applications Analyst is responsible for
reviewing, analyzing, evaluating, and developing clinical Meditech
application tools to meet customer needs; support project
implementation activity; document requirements and define scope and
objectives. The Analyst's primary goal is to support our clients
with system break/fixes, system changes and enhancements, and
ongoing system maintenance, which can include system testing,
troubleshooting, and issue management. Provide technical
application(s) support across multiple environments with a primary
focus on Altera (formerly Allscripts) TouchWorks EHR and integrated
3rd party applications, technologies and interfaces. Strong
communication and teamwork skills are required. This position works
under general supervision.
Key Responsibilities:
Maintain and support the Altera (formerly Allscripts) TouchWorks
EHR and supporting functionality.
Maintenance and support of the 3rd party or other integrated
technologies including but not limited to Intellidose
Analyze and understand complex healthcare integration requirements,
particularly with Altera TouchWorks EHR
Develop, maintain and support HL7 interfaces to support integration
with a variety of healthcare systems, adhering to industry best
practices and standards.
Design and document interface specifications, mappings, and
technical documentation for Altera TouchWorks interfaces.
Troubleshoot and resolve interface-related issues, ensuring
seamless data flow across systems.
Provide end-user support for TouchWorks EHR applications and
systems.
Review, schedule, test, implement and document any system
modifications, upgrades or application changes.
Troubleshoot system issues to resolution and provide timely and
high-quality customer service.
Escalate issues to vendor as needed and monitor vendor tickets for
resolution.
Provide after-hours "on-call" support to troubleshoot and resolve
system issues.
Work with client users and functional teams as needed.
Adheres to change management process for break fix and any system
changes.
Performs system testing to ensure that all product functions work
as designed.
Assist in documenting detailed description of user needs, program
functions and steps required to develop or modify computer
programs.
Documents all build activities in conjunction with updating vendor
provided applications specifications and perform integration and
unit testing; adhere to version control processes.
Experience collecting user requirements, translating to system
feature enhancements, and requesting enhancements of a system
administrator.
Ability to evaluate and analyze EHR features and functionality for
problem resolution.
Provide support for the correct operational and clinical processes
aligned with client's best practices.
May exercise independent judgment to determine the appropriate
course of action to be taken based on the analysis performed and
all possible solutions.
Successfully engages in multiple initiatives simultaneously.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability
to interact professionally with a diverse group, executives,
managers, and subject matter experts.
Maintains a positive work atmosphere by behaving and communicating
in a manner that promotes a favorable working relationship with
customers, clients, co-workers and management.
Other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications:
3 to 5 years of experience with Altera TouchWorks EHR build,
testing, maintenance and support.
Demonstrated experience in designing, building, and implementing
interfaces with Altera TouchWorks EHR.
Strong knowledge of HL7 standards and healthcare system
integration.
Expertise in interface/integration technology concepts (e.g. HL7,
APIs, databases, client-server, querying software and
communications protocols).
Familiarity with integration engines (e.g., Rhapsody, Mirth,
Cloverleaf) is required.
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a
related field, or equivalent work experience.
5+ years of experience in SaaS implementation and support, with at
least 2 years of experience in healthcare IT.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to
manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience maintaining and supporting Intellidose as well as
troubleshooting and resolving interface issues.
Experience in SQL and JavaScript is an asset.
Work Environment:
The role may require occasional on-call support for urgent issues,
with the flexibility to work in a healthcare setting with
interdisciplinary teams.
