Job Description:
--We are currently looking for a dynamic individual to work as a
Sr R&D Manager. In this role, you will report to the Director
of Chemical Plant Operations and will be responsible for leading a
team of Chemical Process Engineers and operators in a Pilot Plant
setting. You will develop and sustain expertise related to specific
chemical processes and application of those processes to chemical
unit operations. The Sr R&D Manager--will oversee process
engineering activities such as new equipment/systems installation,
new products introduction support, infrastructure assessments,
system capability assessments, troubleshooting support and
technical expertise for process equipment. This position will work
closely with R&D & CapEx teams, maintenance, and contractors to
perform projects implementation and to help maintain complex
process equipment. This position will require involvement in
project processes to identify and implement process improvements
using proper change management procedures as well as perform
corrective and preventive actions in a PSM setting. This position
will provide guidance on P&ID development, maintenance
strategies development, SOP's development and equipment
commissioning/qualification activities as required. This will
include the identification of equipment of the proper type, size,
materials, throughput, physical dimensions, required utilities and
mechanical integrity requirements.Key Responsibilities-- Lead the
engineering team that supports numerous projects, providing support
through all project phases, meeting financial objectives, and
deliverables-- Provide oversight of engineering activities and
manage team for response to day-to-day troubleshooting, and process
related outages, or process upsets-- Lead new product introductions
(NPIs) from the infrastructure and process equipment point of
view-- Lead and manage new equipment/systems installation including
infrastructure, connectivity, and capability assessments-- Lead the
implementation of solutions to engineering problems and/or
opportunities and apply technical expertise to develop and present
feasible solutions-- Lead and train engineering staff in the
development of change controls for the implementation of new
system/equipment installations and process improvements-- Lead the
identification of new equipment including but not limited to proper
type, size, materials of construction, throughput, operational
conditions, physical dimensions, required utilities, waste
requirements, operator use and others-- Work with process
technology in developing new equipment/systems/process design,
controls, requirements, specifications, and drawings-- Work with
process chemistry experts to understand process chemistry
requirements and limits so that the equipment design meets the
chemistry requirements-- Understand and apply process scale-up
methods to assure successful operation of new processes-- Develop
the CapEx plan and liaison with CapEx team for the implementation
of capital projects.-- Development of fundamental engineering
skills in team members and grow a small team into a highly
effective engineering organization-- Works with Analytical to
develop proper testing, inspection, analysis of new processes--
Ensure new equipment operates in compliance with required HSE & PSM
regulations and codes-- Ensures adequate engineering support for
Process Safety Management reviews and provide support for
recommendations from Hazard Reviews, MOC, PSSR, etc.-- Lead the
development of SOPs, P&IDs and maintenance procedures for new
equipment and/or systems-- Stay current with assigned SOPs and keep
up to date training file ensuring compliance with all applicable
Standard Operating Procedures-- Ensure compliance, as set forth in
quality protocols and SOPs including cGMP, within the areas of
responsibility, and document out of specification conditions with
deviations, change management, as appropriate-- Ensure a safe work
environment is maintained through adherence and compliance with
safety guidelines, policies, site procedures and job performance

compliance with U.S. export control laws and regulations, candidate
must be a U.S. Person, which is defined as, a U.S. citizen, a U.S.

authorizationThe annual base salary range for this position is
$162,000 - $202,000. Please note that this salary information
serves as a general guideline. Honeywell considers various factors
when extending an offer, including but not limited to the scope and
responsibilities of the position, the candidate's work experience,
education and training, key skills, as well as market and business
considerations.YOU MUST HAVE-- Bachelor's Degree in Chemical
Engineering-- 10 or more years Engineering Experience in a Chemical
Plant or Pilot Plant-- 2-5 years in Direct or Indirect leadership
roleWE VALUE-- MS in Chemical Engineering or MBA-- Ability to work
and relate well with operation, maintenance, lab, and other
personnel in a union environment-- Self-motivated; organized and
proactive; highly responsive, flexible, and adaptable when working
across teams-- Demonstrated capability in process engineering
design, project management, PSM compliance-- Excellent
communication & people skills, as well as time management--
Detailed knowledge of PSM elements and application of those
elements in a plant environment-- Detailed knowledge of hazard
analysis-- Working knowledge of DCS and PLC systems and control
applications-- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to
work with cross-functional teams to take an idea from concept to
startup-- Self-motivated leader who understands when assistance is
needed (and solicits as necessary)-- Leading groups of cross
functional teams-- Demonstrated efficiency at technical problem
solving-- Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Process Control, Process
Discipline tools, Six Sigma Training, certification a plus-- Track
record of troubleshooting and supporting manufacturing processes--
Strong Interpersonal skills - open, engaging, enables others to
perform at their best-- Ability to adapt to rapidly changing
priorities and integrate new learnings into project plans-- Ability
to influence others-- Communicates effectively both in writing and
presentation-- Proficiency with SAP, Internet, Email and Microsoft
