Job Title: Financial Analyst - Intern Department: Finance Reports To: Director of Finance & HR Job Status: Seasonal FLSA Classification: Non-Exempt Schedule: M-F maximum 25 hours/week between June and August Salary/Wage Rate: $18 - $20/ hour Tectran Manufacturing Inc. is an industry-leading manufacturer and marketer of air, hydraulic and electrical systems for the transportation industry. Job Summary:We are currently seeking a candidate for Financial Analyst - Intern at our Cheektowaga, New York location. The Financial Analyst - Intern will work closely with the Director of Finance & HR and Controller to learn about the organization and the data we generate. The person in this role will take on responsibility for aggregating data generated from various offices within Tectran's multi-national company. The candidate will produce a variety of financial reports, including financial consolidations, cash flow analysis, budgeting and forecasting tools, inventory projections, and sales analysis, to name a few. The ideal candidate will be able to give results with a high degree of accuracy, possess strong analytical and communication skills, and work both collaboratively and independently to deliver results. Responsibilities: Analyze current and past financial data to provide forecasting support Evaluate and analyze capital expenditures, depreciation, proposals, investment opportunities, rate of return, profit plans, operating records, financial statements, etc. Organize data into accessible reports and perform various types of analysis using key metrics such as yearly growth, return on assets, and return on equity Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly reports on a number of topics, including sales, inventory, cost of goods sold, and operating expenses Study the company's financial data to provide advice for guiding business investments and overall financial strategy Other ad hoc projects or related tasks as assigned by the Director of Finance & HR Education & Experience: In progress towards a college degree in a related field (Accounting, Finance, Business, Data Analytics, Economics, etc.) Experience in ERP environment (Epicor and/or Vena system knowledge is preferred) Experience in manufacturing industry (a plus) Required Skills & Abilities: Understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) Proficient in using Microsoft Office products, especially use of macros and analytical tools Strong analytical skills to review schedule and cost control information and ensure accuracy as well as identify issues, concerns, and potential mitigations. Excellent time management skills, and detailed-oriented Must be able to successfully work both collaboratively and independently Strong communication and interpersonal skills Ability to meet deadlines Positive attitude, eager to learnPhysical Requirements: Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer Ability to lift up to 30 lbs Perks: $500 referral bonus TECTRAN is an equal opportunity employer.
