You will be the Technical Leader supporting these groups, GC, GC/MS, ICP-OES, Wet chemical analysis, NMR, FTIR, SEM, and other similar analytical analyses. Current employees may visit HR Direct.Due to compliance with U.S. export control laws and regulations, candidate must be a U.S. citizen, U.S. permanent resident, or have asylum or refugee status in the U.S.Key Responsibilities:Serve as the technical expert for analytical characterization, end-to-end novel capability built to understand discovery, product development, process scale up and manufacturing taking place within AM. Work closely with cross-functional R&D teams to develop core capabilities, technologies, measurement, and data analysis to identify critical capability, characterization data needed to develop, process, and scale up of Advanced Materials.Technical mentoring, SOP documentation, and training junior scientists.Develop, validate, and optimize analytical methods for the categorization of materials and substances.Conduct detailed chemical analysis to identify and classify materials according to established criteriaImplement and maintain quality control procedures to ensure the accuracy and reliability of analytical results.Investigate and resolve any anomalies or deviations in analytical data.Risk Management, troubleshooting, Quality, safety, and audit lead.Method/capability developmentAbility to lead analytical aspects of chromatography and fluorine chemistryInternal and external Customer technical consulting and troubleshootingTechnical project coordination over multiple disciples/functions projects in a large matrixed environmentWorking within--cGMP/GLP--proceduresSupport research and development analytical characterization of the next-generation advanced materials especially lithium-ion battery electrolyte materials, battery salts etc.Design of advanced electrolyte characterization methodologies for various cathodes material to support discovery of novel formulations.U.S. PERSON REQUIREMENTS Due to compliance with U.S. export control laws and regulations, candidate must be a U.S. Person, which is defined as, a U.S. citizen, a U.S. permanent resident, or have protected status in the U.S. under asylum or refugee status or have the ability to obtain an export authorizationYOU MUST HAVE:

  • Master's Degree in--Analytical Chemistry, a Ph.D. is preferred.
  • 10+ years of relevant experience in the field after BS degreeWE VALUE:
    • Some--supervision--experience in leading teams/technical leadership
    • Experience in trace analysis, preferably with publications
    • Experience in analysis of fluorinated materials
    • A passion for scientific curiosity and creativity. An open, honest, and team-oriented personality
    • Experience in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
    • Comfortable developing networks and building relationships
    • Excellent--interpersonal--and--communication skills
    • Flexible--to work across cultures and time zones
