Description: Carrier Process Equipment Group (CPEG), is a Louisville, KY based company with multiple businesses specializing in material handling and processing equipment. We are looking for the BEST in the industry to help us grow our business at S. Howes in Silver Creek, NY. This role reports to the President and provides product and application support to customers and sales representatives and interfaces with a team of technical sales people.We are seeking someone who is a self-starter and team player. You also demonstrate ownership and competence and go above and beyond for your teammates and customers. Schedule: 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. What you'll do

  • Coordinate with outside sales (manufacturers' reps) in qualifying/documenting customer requests for quotations of equipment and, in some cases, aftermarket parts.
  • Enter all Prospect information and opportunity information from telephone and e-mail inquiries in CRM database.
  • Translate technical specifications and application descriptions into equipment and aftermarket parts selections.
  • Prepare price estimates for engineer-to-order equipment and standard equipment from price templates.
  • Develop quotations in accordance with S. Howes protocol. Review with Sales or Engineering team prior to transmission to external recipient (Sales Rep and/or Customer).
  • Perform mechanical engineering and sizing calculations to specify equipment where necessary.
  • Follow-up on leads, pending quotes and quotations.
  • Travel up to 20% to specific assigned territory, trade shows, customers, etc. in the U.S.
  • Enter orders in system per S. Howes protocol.
  • Support sales department special projects.
  • Participate in equipment design reviews and material testing exercises for customer applications.
  • Participate in business development and marketing activities (eg, contact existing customers and new prospects to discuss new products and projects).
  • Participate in project management of more complex jobs (e.g. prepare P&IDs, write system operating instructions, participate in start-ups where necessary, etc.).
  • Participate in ASME code and thermal calculations and procedures where necessary.
  • Comply with all company sales policies, procedures, and company/customer confidentiality agreements.
  • Create, maintain, and improve relationships with customers and sales representatives.Requirements:
    • Bachelor of Science degree (preferably in Mechanical Engineering or Chemical Engineering).
    • 2-3 years of experience in industrial or manufacturing business.
    • Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills.
    • Strong communication skills: internally (management, sales, engineering, operations) and externally (Sales Representatives and customers). You keep everyone involved in projects aware of project completion and timing, problematic issues, and resource needs.
    • Problem-solving skills: With customers, sales representatives, and staff.
    • Computer skills: Word for quotation development; Excel for cost and price calculations; Database for leveraging job costing and project history information.
    • Technical aptitude - You understand equipment specifications and process applications and can understand equipment assembly logistics and material and labor cost contribution to overall equipment cost estimates and mechanical engineering principles.
    • Multi-tasking, including attention to detail and assignment prioritizationQualifications that are a plus
