Job Description:
Minimum QualificationsBachelor's degree in Public Health,
Statistics or a related field; OR an Associate's degree in a
related field and two years of experience in data quality control,
data quality improvement and data collection; OR four years of
experience in data quality control, data quality improvement and

access.Preferred QualificationsKnowledge of Drug User Health,
experience with the Statewide Unintentional Drug Overdose Reporting
System (SUDORS), health surveillance, or death record data
abstraction, and working with confidential data. Experience with
the Secure Access Management System (SAMS).ResponsibilitiesThe Data
Administrator II will provide project and data support to the New
York State Unintentional Drug Overdose Reporting System (SUDORS)
within the Office of Drug User Health. This program is responsible
for investigating accidental overdoses in New York State. The
incumbent will assist in reviewing the quality and completeness of
death certificates, coroner or medical examiner records and
toxicology reports. The incumbent will request, collect and
abstract data and ensure that all required information is obtained
from reporting sources. The incumbent will enter data into the
federal databases based on upon established guidelines. The
incumbent will assist with documentation of procedures and
protocols of the SUDORS program and data abstraction and will
assist with training and technical assistance for data abstractors
and coroners and medical examiners. The incumbent will also provide
supervision to the Assistant Data Administrator(s). The incumbent
will provide key information related to overdoses to program staff
to inform overdose prevention interventions. The incumbent will
also conduct outreach to Coroner and Medical Examiner offices in
New York State to assist in improving the quality and quantity of
