Job Description:
Quality Control InspectorThe Quality Control Inspector inspects,
and tests in-coming, in-process and finished good products and
materials, tools, hydrostatic testing, or performance testing. This
position is located in North Tonawanda.The key accountabilities of
this position are:In-Coming Inspection
- Perform incoming inspection for the selected parts at the
receiving
- Provide adherence to drawings and disposition of all
non-conforming materials
- Initiate Reports and follow non-conformity report process to
record and report nonconformity
- Inspect and test First Article Inspections (FAI)parts and
drawings In- Process Inspection
- Inspect assembly process and assembled products according to
engineering specification and Manufacturing Engineering
routing.
- Parts and products such as castings, cutting tools, gauges,
machine parts, and assembled units for conformance to
specifications
- Work with Operation to confirm compliance product and assist
operation associate, Inventory associate and Engineering for any
process improvement or investigation. Inspection of Finished Goods,
Materials
- Inspect finished goods and materials for all customers and
maintain inspection checklist for OEM customers
- Work with OEM and Hydronics Departments to create and monitor
Quality Inspection Plans for both departments.
- Participate in Corrective Actions to assure issues are
addressed & corrected. Disposition of Return goods
- Participate in investigation and disposition of return
goods
- Work with the Quality Coordinator and Warranty Engineer to
process and evaluate the flow of return goods.
- Coordinate inter-site process to receive/ship parts between
sites.
- Participate in Root Cause Analysis and provide feedback of
potential failure modes.
- Timely disposition and feedback into the Infor LN Warranty
system to assure customers are receiving reports and or credits in
a timely manner.
- Recommends improvements and maintenance of the Warranty and RG
processes should an issue arise that affects the Warranty RG
process. Role Requirements
- College degree in an Engineering discipline or equivalent
experience.
- 1-2 years experience in Quality Management system
- Working knowledge of the ISO9001 & ISO14001 requirements
- Demonstrated knowledge & experience with drawing
principles.
- Must possess computer skills & competency; emphasis on
spreadsheets, ERP system inputs and prior use of SPC type
programs.
- Required to be highly proficient in digital photography and
photo file management.
- Able and willing to work under limited supervision with a high
degree of accuracy.
- Familiarization with Safety regulations, policies, and
procedures.
- Must be familiar and able to use all inspection equipment.
(i.e., micrometers, height stands, dial calipers, optical
comparator, and XRF instrument.)
- Must be literate in English
- Must be able to pass a test to operate a fork truck
- Able to lift 45lb. unassisted.
- Creative problem-solving skills, conflict management within
different organizations (centralized and matrix organizational
structures)
- Ability to break down complex problems in a simplified way,
conduct root cause analysis and provide clear, well-thought-out
recommendations.
- Strong, team-oriented leadership skills with presence and a
bias for action.
