*This position is available remotely, or Buffalo, NY* Overview: Nota by M&T Bank is an attorney bank that offers exclusive banking services and benefits to both solo and small firm law practices. Nota assists in keeping attorney IOLTA accounts in compliance through its unique reconciliation features, as well as providing income and expense reporting for the firms' operating accounts. With 3-way reconciliation, check printing, and tool integration with your practice management, accounting and payment systems, Nota is banking designed to maximize your efficiency and offers transparent pricing and dedicated support from bankers who know attorneys. - The Business Development Representative (BDR) will work with the sales team to assist with the growth of our customer base and add value to attorneys' current operating model. As a BDR your main goal is to grow our customer base by reaching out via cold calls and emails to potential customers to set meetings for our Account Executives to discuss Nota. The role will assist in building a sales pipeline of target segments across relevant channels to deliver on the Nota's growth objectives. This role is a great opportunity to further develop your sales career at a fast growing banking start-up. Primary Responsibilities:

  • Represent our company's products and services, often being the first person from our company a customer ever speaks to. Develop a strong understanding of their needs and identify their challenges and how our solutions meet those needs
  • Collaborate with the sales team to schedule qualified sales demonstrations and meetings. Build and develop a qualified sales pipeline in accordance with approved sales management and ethical guidelines
  • Heavy daily prospecting with new business leads through a high volume of cold calling, cold-emailing, consistent cadence following up, and overcoming objections
  • Identify qualified prospects and navigate small business structures to identify key decision makers
  • Keep accurate records in our Customer Relationship Management (hubspot/salesforce), build, add, and accurately edit client profiles by managing sensitive client and prospecting data.
  • Learn, understand and apply the platform's value propositions and competitive intelligence
  • Open to coaching and feedback from team members and/or leadership
  • Create, interest, intrigue and demand for our product and services through a passionate and enthusiastic attitude
  • Design, implement, maintain and enhance internal controls to mitigate risk on an ongoing basis. Identify risk-related issues needing escalation to management
  • Promote an environment that supports diversity and reflects the M&T Bank and Nota brand
  • Maintain M&T internal control standards, including timely implementation of internal and external audit points together with any issues raised by external regulators as applicable
  • Complete other related duties as assigned Basic Qualifications:
  • Associate's degree and a minimum of 3 years related work experience, or in lieu of a degree, a combined minimum of 5 years' higher education and/or related work experience including a minimum of 1 years related work experience
  • Excellent phone and written communication skills
  • Strong time management skills, with the ability to manage your own workload
  • Strong communication skills
  • Strong presentation skills
  • Strong material preparation skills Preferred Qualifications:
  • Prior experience prospecting and proactive client outreach using techniques such as cold calling, networking, and community involvement
  • 1 year of lead generation, cold calling and/ or inside sales experience
  • Experience with heavy cold calling volume (50+ per day)
  • Active listener, quick thinker, and ability to work both independently and in a team
  • Experience in a corporate sales environment is preferred
  • Prior technology or financial services experience in a start-up or larger company
  • Excellent interpersonal and relationship building skills
  • Experience with Customer Relationship Management (e.g. salesforce, hubspot), spreadsheets
