Identifies and prepares documents for processing according to prescribed methods Identifies and sorts a variety of documents. Reviews and prepares varied documents for processing according to prescribed methods including but not limited to: claims, written inquires and membership documents. E2. Utilize corporate software and systems for information retrieval: Use system information to complete documents if required. Utilize system and/or application templates to create and send customer letters. E3. Performs routine clerical functions: Organizes, maintains and files documents in file room. Copies documents when required. Delivers coder returns to appropriate Service Departments. Delivers UM correspondence. Reviews daily reject report and pulls documents indicated. E4. Operates and maintains scanning equipment as required and in accordance with standard operating procedures. Scans and logs a variety of documents (eg. Claims, correspondence, surveys, etc.), utilizing department scanning equipment. Verifies quality of scanned product results on computer screen. Performs daily and periodic preventative maintenance of scanning equipment to ensure proper equipment functioning. E5. Achieve and maintain an acceptable level of productivity, quality and/or other established department metrics. E6. Maintains confidentiality and adheres to HIPAA regulations. E7. Communicate in a professional, polite and respectful manner. N8. Performs other duties of a similar nature that are necessary and not inconsistent with this position or pay grade. Education/Experience/Skills Requirements Required Education: HS/GED: Preferred Education: HS/GED: Preferred Experience: Prior experience with document preparation within a health insurance environment or within a mail room Required Knowledge/Skills: 1. Must meet qualifications to perform the job including satisfactory completion of all training and testing 2. Basic Computer Literacy test 3. Typing: 30 WPM 4. Ability to multitask in fast paced environment 5. Well organized with ability to adapt to changing office environment; exhibits attention to details and time management skills 6. Proficiency in English language skills, including spelling, punctuation and grammar, in both written and verbal communication to ensure communications are issued in a professional manner 7. Ability to utilize basic office equipment including PC, scanner, telephone, copier, printer, fax, calculator. 8. Computer Software typically used: Formworks Inventory Client, Facets 9. Ability to effectively communicate with other departments in conjunction with job duties. Required Licenses/Certifications: Problem Solving Identifies and determines resolutions to problematic situations that relate to the daily departmental processes and procedures.
