Customer Experience Data Scientist/Natural Language Processing Specialist-- - Overview:Helps chart and contribute to the Voice of the Customer's strategy on advanced analytics and define the problems being solved. -- -Helps build the Natural Language Understanding and Machine Learning development and production infrastructure and set our technical standards. -- -Understands the business problems, identifies and applies the right analytical approaches to solve problems and helps formulate and execute models to generate actionable insights. Primary Responsibilities:-- -Design, develop, and deliver Natural Language Processing/Understanding, Predictive and Machine Learning (ML) models.-- -Develop and maintain design documentation, test cases, and performance evaluation metrics on ML models.Serve as data science and NLP subject matter expert within Voice of the Customer and support other data science and NLP activities as required.Work with large, complex data sets. -- -Solve difficult and non-routine analysis problems, applying advanced analytical methods as needed. -- -Conduct analyses that includes data gathering and requirements specification, processing, analysis, ongoing deliverables and presentations.Collaborate with the business units in developing and scaling analytical solutions to drive operational efficiency and effectiveness.Engage broadly within the organization to identify, prioritize, frame, and structure complex and ambiguous challenges, where advanced analytics projects or tools can have the biggest impact.Work on projects with hands-on analysis and modeling, drawing from multiple of analytical methods to choose the right tool and right level of complexity appropriate for the business challenges.Navigate ambiguity, solve complex challenges, and operate in a fast-paced team environment. Understand and adhere to the Company's risk and regulatory standards, policies and controls in accordance with the Company's Risk Appetite. -- -Identify risk-related issues needing escalation to management.-- -Promote an environment that supports diversity and reflects the M&T Bank brand.Maintain M&T internal control standards, including timely implementation of internal and external audit points together with any issues raised by external regulators as applicable.Complete other related duties as assigned.Scope of Responsibilities:This position is responsible for understanding business problems, identifying and applying the right analytical approaches to solve problems. This position helps formulate and execute models to generate actionable insights. Education and Experience Required:Bachelor's degree and a minimum of 3 years' relevant experience working on applications of machine learning (supervised and unsupervised methods), or in lieu of a degree, a combined minimum of 7 years' higher education and/or work experience, including a minimum of 3 years' relevant experience working on applications of machine learning (supervised and unsupervised methods)-- -Prior experience developing NLP/NLU models to solve business problems and generate insights that can be used to improve products and services Education and Experience Preferred:-- -Minimum of a Masters' degree or Doctorate in relevant discipline, e.g., computer science, math or engineeringPrior experience deploying and managing machine learning models #LI- DA1#LI- RemoteLocationCheektowaga, New York, United States of America
