The OpportunityDelaware North Sportservice is hiring two (2) Regional Controllers to join our Sportservice finance team. As a Regional Controller, you will oversee all financial and reporting functions for the region within the subsidiary including accounting, payroll, annual plan, audit assistance, and profit and loss (P&L) and balance sheet management. In addition, the Regional Controller will oversee all regional projections, budgets, and explanations of financial trends. The Regional Controller will also partner with finance leadership to consolidate regional financial results, analyze business trends to build and communicate forecasts, projections, and budgets for operational decision making. The Regional Controllers will work continuously to develop their direct reports, strengthen the accounting departments, and improve the supporting functions in unit and at corporate office.While this role is normally located at our Global Headquarters in Buffalo, NY, we are open to remote-based candidates. One of the roles will be required to support our West Coast operations. Associates who live in Buffalo will be able to work on a flexible/hybrid basis.Per city, state, or client mandate, all current and new hires at this location are required to have received an authorized COVID 19 vaccination. You will be asked to confirm this prior to receiving a job offer. Responsibilities

Manage the operations of the accounting department, including supervision of accounting personnel and review/approval of weekly, monthly, and annual reports.Analyze and report variances and month-end accounting duties.Implement and enforce internal controls.Travel to business units to review accounting procedures and current operations.Responsible for analyzing and reporting variances and driving month-end accounting duties.Develop direct reports, strengthen the department, and improve the supporting functions.Determine when training, reviews, and disciplinary actions are needed and administer annual performance reviews.Develop and translate strategy into operational goals and objectives.Identify necessary resources and assess opportunities against business objectives.Ensure all regional reports are accurate and explanatory of projected financial performance.Lead or assist with all financial and reporting for the unit including accounting, annual business plan, audit assistance, and cash management.Identify Delaware North client exceptions to the standard Accounting processes and identify, in conjunction with business unit leadership, ways to gradually shift client s expectations towards Delaware North s standard practices.Work closely with our Global Business Services Group (GBS) to continuously improve efficacy handoffs or transitions of work.Collaborate with corporate functions across the board to ensure any required changes to policies, procedures, and processes are implemented.Collaborate with data owners to align on process and data issues.Qualifications
  • Bachelor s degree in Accounting or Associate s degree in business-related curriculum coupled with relevant prior accounting experience.
  • Certified Public Accountant or MBA, ideal.
  • Deep understanding of finance and accounting processes.
  • Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.
  • Expertise in driving continuous improvement and business process management.
  • Strong computer skills, including MS Office and PeopleSoft Financials or similar accounting software.
  • Understanding of how to drive effective performance management.
  • Facilitation, detailed collaboration, and effective communication skills.
