POSITION: Union - Meter Reader Collector Transitional Temporary
(Lockport, NY) 20080
NUMBER OF POSITIONS: 3
Read and record electric meter indexes into computerized
Responsible for accurate and timely meter readings of electric
and gas meters.
Report hazardous conditions, meter tampering and meter
Timely completion of assignments.
Assist in ensuring data integrity and customer satisfaction.
Adhre to safety policies and practices.
Maintain current meter location recrods and maps.
Responsible for protection and maintenance of all assigned
Work field collections.
Other duties as assigned.
Skills and Requirements
Must be at least 18 years of age.
Must have high school diploma or GED.
Must have a valid driver's license.
Must be willing to work in various weather conditions including
heat/cold, rain and snow.
Must be willing to work extra hours as required, including storm
Must be able to perform essential job functions, with or without
Must successfully complete background check, drug screen and
Must be particularly alert in observing hazards and avoiding
Must be self-motivated.

Must be able to complete physically demanding tasks on a daily
Previous experience as a meter reader or experience driving a
