Position Title: Compliance Manager - Loan Originations

Location/Affiliate: FSB Plaza-Chestnut Street

Reports To (Title): Chief Compliance Officer Department: Compliance

FLSA Status: Exempt

Purpose: The Compliance Manager is responsible for serving as the Bank's subject matter expert and providing day to day compliance support to loan originations, to ensure ongoing compliance with applicable Federal and State regulatory requirements.

Area of Responsibility: Compliance support to all loan originations business functions

Essential Functions: The major duties of the job that constitute the fundamental tasks and or responsibilities of the position. Employees must be able to perform the essential functions of the position with or without reasonable accommodations.

  1. Serve as the Bank's subject matter expert and assist with the administration of the Compliance Management Program to all lending units, updating policies and procedures as necessary.

  2. Monitor and advise on changes in laws and regulatory trends impacting the Bank's lending business and engage in regulatory change management.

  3. Prepare an annual update to risk assessments of loan originations.

  4. Conduct periodic compliance monitoring, testing, and reviews of loan originations to identify any weaknesses in controls and to ensure ongoing compliance with regulatory requirements.

  5. Provide timely, proactive, and accurate day to day compliance support to loan originations business units.

  6. Review advertisements, marketing collateral, disclosures, agreements, and other customer documentation to ensure compliance with applicable regulatory requirements.

  7. Confer on lending related complaints, root cause, trend, and other analysis for improvement opportunities.

  8. Demonstrate the standards and principles of the Five Star experience in every interaction with internal and external customers, associates, and stakeholders. Incorporate the high-performance behaviors of teamwork, leading by example, and service in every facet of work.

Job-Related Qualifications


Required: Bachelor's Degree

Required: High School Diploma or equivalent

Preferred: Bachelor's Degree

Prior Experience:

Years: 1+ Type: Bank Compliance, or Audit, or


Years: +3 Type: Bank Compliance, or Audit, or


Years: +5 Type: Bank Compliance, or Audit, or


Years: 3+ Type: Bank Compliance or Audit

Licenses or Accreditation:


Preferred: Certified Regulatory Compliance Manager (CRCM)


  1. Familiarity with federal and state laws and regulations relating to Consumer, Residential, Small Business and Commercial loan originations, and ability to apply them in a practical setting

  2. Knowledge of Bank products, lines of business, and operations, with experience supporting the administration of a Compliance Management Program

  3. Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet established deadlines

  4. High ethical standards and ability to maintain a high degree of discretion and confidentiality

  5. Good judgment and analytical ability to identify trends, interpret data, conduct root cause analysis, and apply findings to workflows to deliver timely, accurate, and proactive compliance guidance and advice

  6. Excellent organizational, verbal and written communication skills and ability to interact positively with a wide variety of individuals

  7. High degree of self-motivation and ability to make decisions independently

  8. Possess attention to detail and high level of accuracy

  9. Proficient with Microsoft applications especially Word and Excel with the ability to learn and utilize new and existing banking software applications

Physical Requirements:

  1. Able to regularly sit for prolonged periods of time

  2. Extensive computer usage is required
