The position's responsibilities include being able to effectively communicate with the internal team and outside customers. The Payroll Tax Specialist's duties will include handling all aspects of payroll tax service from making payments and filing returns to troubleshooting tax problems and working directly with federal, state and local agencies.Key responsibilities- Run and build custom reports- Compile data into spreadsheets and the payroll system- Make withholding tax and unemployment insurance payments, and reconcile payment accounts- Assist with preparation and filing of quarterly/annual tax returns and W-2s- Communicate with federal, state, and local tax agencies to resolve tax notices- Prepare amended tax returns- Manage communications with employees on time sheet approvals- Administer and distribute reports as instructed- Carry out clerical duties such as filing, scanning, faxing, photocopying, etc- Deliver instruction/training to employees regarding the use of payroll-related systems including entry of time sheets, online access of pay statements, etc.- Data entry into spreadsheets and the payroll systemFor immediate consideration, please contact Jenny Bour at (716)842-6384 or submit a resume in strict confidence to Jennifer.Bour@roberthalf.comJob Requirements:Candidates for the Payroll Tax Specialist position must have strong technical skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and automated payroll processing services. Bachelor's degree, preferably in Business, Accounting, or Finance, 5+ years of experience in payroll systems required. Payroll tax experience strongly preferred, specifically making payments, filing returns, and responding to notices.
