Job Title: Paralegal Location: Corning, NY 14831 Duration: 12 months with possible extension Shift: 08:00 AM – 05:00 PM Pay Range: $24.53 - $26.00/Hr. on W2 Job Description: Minimum Requirements : · Associates degree and 1 year of relevant experience. · Candidate must demonstrate in resume or by interview strong attention to detail. Product/Purpose of Position: · Patent Paralegal role within client’s Law Department contributing to the operational excellence of the Intellectual Property (IP) Department. · Provides legal assistance and performs a variety of legal-related tasks including document preparation, review, docket management, research, and coordination. · Roles & Responsibilities: · Supports patent attorneys for the intake of intellectual property matters and correspondence, managing IP-related data and documents. · Communicates with external law firms and internal business and technical contacts and prepares and submits patent applications and other patent filings to the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) and other patent offices world-wide. · Drafts assignments, declarations, and completes templates and other documents for attorney review, as well as filing of such documents. · Ensures that the patent filings are complete and submitted in a format acceptable to the USPTO or other patent office and in compliance with Department guidelines. · Prepares and assists with managing attorney dockets and running other reports needed for the patent attorneys to effectively manage patent and technology portfolios.
