We are currently seeking a Systems Administrator 2/3 to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals and become part of Northrop Grumman's Amherst Systems in Buffalo, New York; an organization focused on the development and production of state-of-the-art Simulation Systems solutions. The Systems Administrator position will have responsibilities that include: Maintain smooth operation of multi-user computer systems, including coordination with network administrators. Apply security measures, and Operating System hardening to fielded computing systems. Interact with users and evaluate vendor products. Make recommendations to purchase hardware and software, coordinate installation and provide backup recovery. Develop and monitor policies and standards for allocation related to the use of computing resources. Installing, hardening and patching Linux operating systems. Implement recovery procedures to include backup and potential restoration. Develop and document technical processes and procedures as needed. The Systems Administrator may also set up administrator and service accounts, maintain system documentation, tune system performance, install system wide software and allocate mass storage space. The successful candidate will be strong in Linux/Unix administration and will preferably have experience with Windows administration. This requisition may be filled at a higher grade based on qualifications listed below. BUFMSTRThis requisition may be filled at either a level 2 or a level 3. Basic Qualifications for a level 2: Bachelor's degreein a related technical field plus 3 years of relevant IT experience or Master's degree in a related technicalfield plus 1 year of relevant IT experience. Experience with Linux/Unix administration. Ability to collaborate in a team environment. U.S. citizenship with the ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Defense (DoD) Secret clearance. Basic Qualifications for a level 3: Bachelor's degree in a related technical field plus 6years of relevant IT experience or Master's degree in a related technicalfield plus4 years of relevant ITexperience. Experience with Linux/Unix administration. Ability to collaborate in a team environment. U.S. citizenship with the ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Defense (DoD) Secret clearance.
