a Senior Project Manager position for our client. Location:
Buffalo, NY (Hybrid Remote) Duration: 9 months Duties: The Senior
Project Manager for the Computer-Assisted Coding (CAC) and Clinical
Documentation Integrity (CDI) Software Deployment Project is
responsible for end-to-end planning, coordination, execution, and
delivery of enterprise CAC/CDI implementations across inpatient,
outpatient, and professional billing environments. This role
provides delivery governance, cross-functional coordination, and
execution discipline, ensuring scope, schedule, quality, and risk
are actively managed across business, clinical, IT, QA, compliance,
and vendor teams. The Project Manager ensures project execution
remains requirements-driven, testable, auditable, and operationally
sustainable, rather than focused solely on technical go-live
milestones. The role also ensures sustained commitment to
documentation, reporting, and record keeping, enabling proactive
status reporting and timely responses to ad hoc information
requests. Key responsibilities include: Project Planning &
Execution Develop and maintain integrated project plans with
detailed work packages, tasks, dependencies, and milestones across
business analysis, interface development, QA/testing, training,
go-live, stabilization, and core application configuration.
Establish and manage milestones, dependencies, critical paths, and
deliverables across all CAC/CDI workstreams. Ensure alignment
between project plans, resource availability, and organizational
priorities. Governance, Risk & Issue Management Establish and
maintain project governance structures, including status reporting,
decision logs, risk and issue registers, and escalation pathways.
Proactively identify and manage risks related to scope, data
readiness, workflow maturity, testing coverage, training readiness,
and operational adoption. Serve as the primary escalation point for
delivery risks impacting quality, compliance, or revenue cycle
performance. Requirements, QA & Testing Alignment Partner with
Business Analysts to ensure clear, approved, and testable
requirements aligned to current- and future-state workflows. Ensure
QA activities are planned, resourced, and executed in alignment
with the testing strategy, including integration testing, interface
testing, UAT, and regression testing. Cross-Functional Coordination
Coordinate activities across operational stakeholders (Coding, CDI,
HIM, Compliance, Billing, Operations, Clinical Leadership), QA
teams, interface developers, business systems analysts, trainers,
and vendors. Audit project artifacts to ensure requirements,
workflows, and testing outputs are fit for purpose. Vendor &
Stakeholder Management Act as the primary coordination point with
CAC/CDI vendors to ensure deliverables align with contractual
scope, timelines, and dependencies. Communicate effectively with
executive sponsors, clinical leaders, operational managers, and IT
leadership regarding status, risks, and decisions. Go-Live &
Stabilization Oversight Coordinate go-live readiness activities,
including training completion, data validation, cutover planning,
and support coverage. Lead post–go-live stabilization, including
issue triage, separation of training issues versus system defects,
and transition to steady-state operations. Skills: Advanced project
planning and delivery governance skills Strong risk, issue, and
dependency management capabilities Excellent stakeholder
communication and vendor management skills Deep understanding of
QA, testing, and requirements traceability Ability to manage
complex, highly integrated healthcare IT initiatives Experience: 10
years of experience managing healthcare IT or revenue cycle–related
projects, including enterprise-scale implementations Direct
experience implementing Computer-Assisted Coding (CAC) and Clinical
Documentation Integrity (CDI) tools Experience managing projects
involving EHRs, LIS, RIS, OIS, and revenue cycle systems
(registration, scheduling, charging, coding, billing) Experience
leading projects with extensive HL7 and EDI-based integrations
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Information Systems,
Healthcare Administration, Project Management, or a related field
Active Project Management Professional (PMP) certification required
Preferred Qualifications: HIM or revenue cycle credentials (CRC,
CPC, CPB, RHIA, etc.) Knowledge of HL7 message types and segments
and EDI loops and segments Knowledge of business analysis and
operations management techniques for process evaluation and
optimization Excellent verbal and written English communication
skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse
