This position will be located at our Mission Systems Sector in Buffalo, NY.The qualified candidate will become part of Northrop Grumman's Amherst Systems in Buffalo, New York, an organization focused on development and production of state-of-the-art Simulation Systems solutions.Roles and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:
  • Design, develop, test, operate, and maintain software and firmware components and computing systems software to be applied to, and integrated with, engineering, scientific and manufacturing requirements- Apply the appropriate Software Engineering standards, processes, procedures and tools throughout the system development life cycle to support the generation of such engineering applications and products such as laboratory simulation systems, and display systems - Interface with customers, suppliers, application users, and other technical and support personnel
    • Travel to customer site for installation of our software applications upon completion (dependent on program phase)Basic Qualifications:This requisition may be filled at either a level 1 or a level 2. Basic qualifications for a Software Engineer 1 are a Bachelor's Degree. Basic qualifications for a Software Engineer 2 are a Master's Degree.A candidate must meet ALL of the below criteria. The candidate must:
      • Be completing or has completed their degree (Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD) from an accredited institution
      • Be majoring in or having majored in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Math) degree
      • Have an overall cumulative GPA of 3.0/4.0 or higher (unofficial academic transcripts must be provided at time of application by uploading the documents to your application or profile)
      • Be able to obtain a U.S. Government security clearance (U.S. citizenship is a pre-requisite)
        Preferred Qualifications:
        • Have an overall cumulative GPA of 3.70/4.0 or higher
        • Be majoring in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering or Electrical Engineering
        • Experience with RedHat or Centos Operating Systems
          • Experience with C/C++
          • Experience with Qt
          • Experience developing software in JAVA or ADA programming languages.
          • Experience with Angular, JavaScript, CSS, REST APIs
          • Experience with Agile methodology
          • Experience with Git/Github
          • Experience with GPU Shader programming
          • Experience with OpenGL


            Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
