What you'll achieve
As a Software Principal Engineer, you will work on a brand new Private 5G Federated Core Network project, taking part in a once in a career opportunity. You will be responsible for the design and implementation of new software technology enabling Dell to address the demands of 5G wireless solutions. You will work within a global development team, actively collaborating with our technical and business leaders as part of an intrapreneurial team building a new business from the ground up.

You will:
Develop software for a Private 5G Federated Core Network Configuration Software from customer requirements to delivery.

Participate in the creation of a design document that will drive the implementation of the software

Implement and unit test key features, per implementation plans and design documents

Work to identify and drive improvements, integration, and test automation

Work to migrate the software into a Product Development team who will own the deployment into customer environments

Essential Requirements:
Solid knowledge of Linux; operating systems; firmware; BIOS; device drivers; databases; system, network, operating system, and application administration; embedded software; tools and utilities

Packet Core Network experience

Experience with service provider and mobility management

Knowledgeable of DevOps models

Able to code/debug more complex programs using either written or verbal design specifications

Able to understand and follow software lifecycle methods

Desirable Requirements:
Core network switching software development

Understanding of 5G core network function

8+ years of relevant experience or equivalent combination of education and work experience
