outstanding staff! Join our team. As the Food Service Manager you
will manage the food service program to efficiently provide
economical and nutritious lunches for students adhering to New York
State Department of Health and federal lunch program guidelines. As
the Food Service Manager, your day will include: -Planning and
supervising the preparation and service of breakfast and lunches in
a school setting-Planning menu adaptations for children with
special needs -Coordinating all equipment maintenance and cafeteria
repairs with appropriate school administration -Directing and
assisting with routine manual labor associated with food
preparation and cleaning of cafeteria and kitchen-Ordering food and
supplies to maintain an adequate inventory within established
nutritional and budget guidelines.-Maintaining efficient operation
of School cafeteria by training, and supervising food service
staff-Directing daily cleaning duties in the cafeteria including
cleaning equipment and work areas, mopping, operating dishwasher
and/or scrubbing pots and pans, cleaning up at end of shift, and
putting away/disposing of leftovers. -Organizing food service and
dining areas-Organizing and appropriately maintaining food
supplies, equipment, and utensils-Evaluating and implementing
appropriate recommendations from food service staff for
improvements to the breakfast and lunch program-All other duties as
assigned Qualifications for the role: -Minimum of two years
experience supervising an institutional food service or comparable
setting-Skills and abilities normally associated with completion of
an associate’s degree or equivalent-Considerable knowledge of food
service methods and procedures -Strong organization skills and
close attention to detail-Working knowledge of occupational hazards
and safety precautions -Frequently requires physical exertion to
reach, bend, walk, climb, stoop, kneel and stand for long periods
of time-Must be able to frequently move, lift, carry and push heavy
objects more 45 pounds-Manual dexterity and coordination to operate
a variety of kitchen equipment not limited to dishwasher, oven, hot
box, slicers, etc. -Ability for distance and close vision and depth
perception-Most work is indoors, occasionally exposed to fumes or
airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals Competitive Salary
starting at $30.92 per hour Shift: Monday through Friday 6:30 AM –
1:30 PM, 6 week summer session mandatory for manager position Some
