Job Title: Level 3 RN ED Observation Float Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Emergency Room RN Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: Rotating Shifts, Days, Evenings, Nights, On Call, Call Back, Charge, Holidays, Weekends as needed Hours per Shift: 12.0 Experience: Two years of Med/Surg Experience License: RN License (New York only) Certifications: BLS (American Heart Association only), ACLS (AHA only), NIHSS (preferred) Must-Have: - RN License (New York only) - BLS Certification (American Heart Association only) - Two years of experience in Medical/Surgical nursing - ACLS Certification (AHA only) Description: The Observation unit cares for adult patients needing additional observation to determine if the patient's condition is serious enough for admission to the hospital or if the patient can be treated and released home safely. The Observation unit operates in a fast-paced environment, managing 20 to 27 patients per day, with an average length of stay of 27 hours. The unit has 24/7 provider coverage. Care is provided for a diverse adult population, including emergency observation and admitted boarding patients.
