Position Job Title: Patient Care Technician Profession: Patient

Experience: - Minimum of 1 year of acute care experience in a
hospital setting - Computer literacy required License: - High
school diploma or GED Certifications: - Current BLS certification
(through American Heart Association or RQI) required - CPI
certification within 30 days of hire Must-Have: - Strong
interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills - Ability
to organize, plan, and complete assignments under the supervision
of a registered nurse - Ability to provide age-appropriate care to
pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients Description:
Perform patient care activities and clerical functions under the
supervision of a registered nurse. Support clinical operations of
the emergency department. Provide technical assistance and
participate in unit and organizational improvement activities.
Responsible for reviewing and completing emergency department
records. Perform phlebotomy, EKGs, patient transport, hygiene care,
vital signs, weights, pulse oximetry, and assist with procedures.
Input radiology, laboratory, and EKG orders accurately and
promptly. Maintain departmental filing system, manage mail, and
ensure organized record-keeping. Monitor and order supplies,
restock rooms, and maintain cleanliness and organization of utility
areas. Manage communication within the department, including
answering phones and conveying messages. Accurately enter patient
orders, discharges, transfers, and related information. Keep
patients and families informed about care processes and support
patient needs. Monitor and report changes in patient condition
promptly. Ensure safe patient handling and mobility, including use
of transfer devices. Assist with wound care, splinting, and sterile
dressing setup under RN/MD supervision if needed. Follow infection
prevention and isolation protocols rigorously. Demonstrate
proficiency in prioritizing multiple patients and tasks in a
fast-paced environment. Support de-escalation and behavioral
emergency interventions. Collaborate with multidisciplinary team
members to ensure efficient patient flow and continuity of care.
Accurately document patient care and observations in the medical
record according to policy. Maintain equipment by cleaning,
testing, and reporting malfunctions promptly. Requirements Required
