Department: Pharmacy Position Type: Part-Time (Internship) FLSA:
Non-Exempt Job Summary: The Pharmacy Staff Intern will support the
day-to-day operations of the pharmacy, including prescription
processing, patient counseling, clinical drug monitoring, and
inventory management. All activities are performed under the
supervision of a New York State registered pharmacist to ensure
compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
Duties/Responsibilities: Assist with prescription processing,
billing, and dispensing. Provide patient counseling and education
under pharmacist supervision. Support clinical drug monitoring and
customer service initiatives. Maintain accurate documentation for
pharmaceutical purchases and dispensing. Ensure proper storage,
packaging, and security of medications. Participate in inventory
management and remove outdated products. Assist with pharmacy
marketing and continuous quality improvement initiatives. Perform
insurance verification and claims processing. Package prescriptions
for shipping and coordinate timely delivery. Support clinical
pharmacy projects and other duties as assigned. Required
Skills/Abilities: Strong attention to detail and organizational
skills. Excellent communication and customer service abilities.
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. Commitment
to confidentiality and compliance with regulations. Education and
Experience: Currently enrolled in a nationally accredited school of
pharmacy in good standing. Completion of at least one year of
pharmacy school (P2 level or higher). Registered as a Pharmacy
Intern with the State of New York. Physical Requirements: Ability
to stand, sit, walk, and use hands for extended periods.
Occasionally stoop, bend, and lift or move up to 25 lbs. Specific
vision requirements include close, distance, peripheral vision,
