Registered Nurse (RN) | Medical-Surgical Location: Penn Yan, NY Agency: Cynet Health Pay: $2,110 per week Shift Information: 3 days x 12 hours Contract Duration: 14 Weeks Start Date: 3/2/2026 About the Position TravelNurseSource is working with Cynet Health to find a qualified Med/Surg RN in Penn Yan, New York, 14527! Job Title: Med/Surg Registered Nurse Profession: RN Specialty: Acute Care Duration: 14 weeks Shift: Full Time Hours per Shift: 3x12s, day or night shifts as needed, including every other weekend and holidays, plus 2 On Call shifts per 4-week schedule Experience: One (1) year experience serving in a Med/Surg environment as a Registered Nurse required License: NYS RN Licensure required Certifications: BLS, ACLS required Must-Have: - One (1) year experience serving in a Med/Surg environment as a Registered Nurse - NYS RN Licensure Description: The Registered Nurse applies knowledge of nursing theory, technical skills, and communication skills to deliver high-quality compassionate care to patients and families. The RN assesses patient needs, develops a plan of care in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team, provides direct care, evaluates patient progress, and coordinates care delivery throughout the patient's episode. The Med/Surg RN develops specialized skills in the area of cardiac care, including telemetry monitoring. The RN is accountable for patient and family education to assist in understanding self-care beyond hospitalization, including lifestyle changes to support health and healing. He/She promotes comfort and provides emotional support in a healing environment. The RN applies nursing knowledge and skills in the delivery of care by assessing patient and family needs. This includes active listening, social perceptiveness, and analyzing data through observation, assessment, technology, or team communication. The RN creates a culturally relevant, individualized plan of care to address identified health problems. In collaboration with the patient, family, physician, and healthcare team members, the RN sets goals and monitors patient progress. The RN adjusts the plan based on patient response, changes in condition, or reprioritization of needs. The RN promotes, advocates for, and protects the health, safety, and rights of the patient. The RN evaluates the quality and effectiveness of nursing practice and uses Quality Improvement activities to influence care delivery. The RN engages in self-evaluation, identifies strengths and areas for professional development, and takes accountability to increase knowledge and enhance skills. The RN demonstrates skills in medication administration and other nursing interventions. The RN motivates patients and families by teaching them how to continue care and healing at home. The RN assesses learning styles and structures educational sessions to maximize understanding. The RN seeks teachable moments during care delivery to emphasize important information. The RN documents education provided and patient/family responses. The RN encourages trust, respect, and cooperation among team members to achieve the best patient outcomes. The RN teaches others and delegates tasks consistent with individual training and scope of practice.
