Certifications: BLS, NIHSS Must-Have: Interpretation of
dysrhythmias Management of dysrhythmias IV insulin protocols
Titration of insulin drips Feeding tube care and management
Continuous bladder irrigation Pre/Post hemodialysis management
Blood product administration Central line care/management
Peripheral line care/management PICC line management Starting and
maintaining IVs Heparin protocols Managing cardiac drips (no
titration) Patient-controlled analgesia Substance withdrawal
management Care of ventilated patients Chest tube management
Non-invasive airway management Tracheostomy management Isolation
precautions Wound care/Wound vac Description: This position
requires the ability to interpret and manage dysrhythmias.
Candidates must be knowledgeable about IV insulin protocols and
titration of insulin drips. Feeding tube care and management is
essential. Experience with continuous bladder irrigation is
required. Pre- and post-hemodialysis management skills are
necessary. Blood product administration must be performed
competently. Central and peripheral line care and management is
required. Candidates should have experience in PICC line management
and starting and maintaining IVs. Knowledge of heparin protocols is
necessary. The nurse will manage cardiac drips without titration.
Patient-controlled analgesia management is expected. Experience in
managing substance withdrawal is essential. Caring for ventilated
patients is a requirement. Chest tube management skills are
necessary. The nurse will need to perform non-invasive airway
management, including tracheostomy care. Understanding and
following isolation precautions is critical. Wound care and
management, including the use of wound vac systems, are required.
The unit has a nurse to patient ratio of 5 to 1 during day shifts
and higher ratios at night if staff call-ins occur. Candidates may
