Job Description & Requirements - Specialty:Orthopedics - Discipline:RN - Duration:13 weeks - 36 hours per week - Shift:12 hours, days - Employment Type:Local Contract WCS Healthcare is currently seeking a Med/Surg Nurse for a contract assignment at a Prestigious Hospital in Rochester, NY. Job Function: - Day Shift or Night Shift. - 3x12. - Prepares and administers (orally, subcutaneously, through an IV) and records prescribed medications. - Reports adverse reactions to medications or treatments in accordance with the policy regarding the administration of medications by a licensed registered nurse. - Educates patients on surgical procedures; Records patients’ medical information and vital signs. - Monitors and adjusts specialized equipment used on patients, and interprets and records electronic displays. - Job Requirements: - Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing or holder of a Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (BSN). - Current RN license in the state of New York. - 2 years of acute care Medical/Surgical RN experience required. - BLS and ACLS certifications from the American Heart Association required. - Telemetry experience required, including telemetry interpretation. - Orthopedic nursing experience required. - Experience in a Level 1 trauma facility preferred.
