Job Title: Level 3 RN ED Observation Profession: Registered
Nurse Specialty: Emergency Department Observation Duration: 26
weeks Shift: Rotating shifts including days, evenings, nights,
weekends, holidays, on call, and charge responsibilities as needed
Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum of 2 years of
Med/Surg experience, with telemetry experience required License:
Registered Nurse License (New York) Certifications: - BLS (American
Heart Association) - NIHSS (Preferred) Must-Have: - RN License (New
York) - BLS Certification - Telemetry Experience - Two years of
experience in Med/Surg - NIHSS Certification is preferred
Description: The Observation unit cares for adult patients needing
additional observation to determine if their condition requires
admission to the hospital or if they can be treated and released
home safely. This unit operates in a very fast-paced environment,
managing a turnover of 20 to 27 patients per day. The average
length of stay for patients is 27 hours. The unit is staffed with
provider coverage available 24/7. Care is provided to a diverse
adult population, including both emergency observation and admitted
boarding patients. Patient cases will range from short stays to
full admissions.
