Job Title: Diagnostic Radiologic Technologist Profession: Radiologic Technologist Specialty: Acute Radiologic Technology Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: Full Time, 4x10s Hours per Shift: 10 Experience: Minimum of 1 Year in Radiologic Technology License: New York State Licensure Certifications: BLS, ARRT Certification Must-Have: OR C-Arm Experience Description: Performs technical radiographic assignments. Exercises complex skills, judgment, and knowledge of the principles and methods of Radiologic Technology. Performs diagnostic radiographic studies as requested. Operates portable diagnostic radiographic equipment where needed. Performs infection control according to Universal Precautions. Demonstrates the ability to provide care to infant, pediatric, adult, and geriatric patients. Operates radiographic equipment, image processor, and other related equipment across different modalities with accuracy. Evaluates image quality and demonstrates accuracy of radiographic positioning based on procedure guidelines. Ensures that proper radiation protection is used for self, patients, and other personnel by using proper collimation and lead shielding when applicable. Demonstrates flexibility in assuming emergency call on weekdays, weekends, and holidays in addition to routine hours. Demonstrates competency in Radiology Information System (RIS). Uses the system to enter and edit patient demographics and charges. Records additional data including repeat rate and notes. Demonstrates competency with Computed Radiography (CR) and Picture Archiving and Communication System (PACS) for image processing. Reviews images and selects proper protocols while caring for imaging plates and cassettes as well as troubleshooting. Follows prescribed techniques in administering all aspects of Radiology and contrast media. Recognizes emergency situations regarding reactions to contrast media and takes appropriate action. Occupational exposure to bloodborne pathogens is reasonably anticipated. Tasks involve potential contact with blood, body fluids, and tissues.
