today! /n Responsibilities: /n /n - Coordinate daily schedules and
patient flow. /n - Accompany patients to exam or procedure rooms
and assist with mobility, dressing, specimen collection, and exam
preparation. /n - Collect patient histories, vital signs, and
perform screenings in accordance with provider guidelines. /n -
Communicate care instructions clearly to patients and families to
ensure understanding and continuity of care. /n - Send and receive
patient medical records in accordance with Health Insurance
Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) and other state and
federal regulations. /n - Prepare patient rooms and set up
instruments and equipment in accordance with department protocols.
/n - Clean exam and procedure rooms, instruments, and equipment
between patient visits to ensure proper infection control. /n -
Follow scheduled maintenance programs for cleaning and maintain
accurate records. /n - Manage supply inventory and restock exam and
procedure rooms as needed. /n - Comply with requirements of
appropriate regulatory agencies (i.e. OSHA, CLIA, PA Department of
Health) and all UPMC Health System policies and procedures. /n -
Maintain strict confidentiality related to medical records and
other data. /n - Perform phlebotomy, EKGs, level one labs, and
clinic procedures in accordance with established policies and
procedures. /n - Assist physicians with clinical procedures to
support patient care. /n - Document patient information accurately
and thoroughly in the medical record. /n - Answer calls and provide
pertinent information, including patient education, as directed. /n
- Obtain lab and x-ray reports, hospital notes, referral
information, and complete necessary forms and requisitions. /n -
Schedule patient appointments and coordinate follow-up as needed.
/n - Verify insurance coverage and confirm patient demographics for
accuracy. /n - Prepare and manage patient charts to ensure all
information is complete, up-to-date, and properly filed. /n -
Perform other front office responsibilities as required. /n -
Administer injectable medication and vaccines when appropriate
under the direction and supervision of a physician. /n Required: /n
/n - High school diploma or equivalent. /n - Must have basic
computer skills and knowledge of medical terminology, examination,
diagnostic and treatment room responsibilities. /n /n Licensure,
Certifications, and Clearances: /n /n - CPR required based on AHA
standards that include both a didactic and skills demonstration
component within 30 days of hire /n - Act 31 Mandated Reporter
Training within 90 days of hire or transfer /n - Basic Life Support
(BLS) OR Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) /n - Act 31 Child
Abuse Reporting with renewal /n - Act 33 with renewal /n - Act 34
