It is a rural community situated equidistant (approximately a one-hour drive) to the major metropolitan areas of Rochester (to the northeast) and Buffalo (to the northwest). The County is a 4-season nature lover s paradise with many exciting outdoor adventures including one of the largest and most beautiful state parks in the East (a 15-mile-long park including a number of campgrounds, over 65 miles of hiking trails, and through which the Genesee River has developed three major waterfalls and a 600-foot-deep river gorge). The area is also home to an Airport, a Lake, as well as unique family entertainment. The area is also close to the Upstate New York Finger Lakes Region. In addition to Rochester and Buffalo, major nearby cities include Toronto, Ontario, Pittsburgh, PA and Cleveland, OH, which are approximately a three-hour drive. We are a county owned facility that in early 2014 completed a $31 million addition including a new entrance and lobby, registration, emergency department and lab draw and major renovations to the maternity floor, ambulatory surgery area, and skilled nursing facility. It is the only hospital facility in the county and only comparable facility within a 35-mile radius. The Health System provides inpatient and outpatient diagnostic, acute, ambulatory, inpatient behavioral health, and long-term skilled nursing services.
