12-story, mixed-use building in downtown Buffalo, N.Y. The

design. The OpportunityThe Vice President of Risk Management is
responsible for planning, directing and managing the Corporate Risk
Management Department's personnel and activities regarding
insurance programs including self-insurance, risk management,
safety, and risk control, both domestically and internationally.
Select responsibilities include the following:
- Plan, direct and evaluate activities regarding Corporate Risk
Insurance Programs; develop methods and markets insurance in a
cost-effective manner (both domestically and internationally).
- Purchase, and maintain general insurance protection for company
property, public liability, workers compensation, and related
- Negotiate with brokers and carriers to obtain the most
favorable premium and coverage and insurance market selection.
- Oversee the claims management program and review and approve
public liability and workers compensation claims settlements within
the Delaware North authority matrix. Evaluate performance of
brokers and carriers.
- Plan, direct and evaluate activities of Risk Management, Safety
and Risk Control for the corporation and its subsidiaries, to
ensure protection of employees, public safety, and company
- Review bids and contract agreements and recommend changes to
minimize and protect the company's liability assumed by contract.
This function is particularly vital during acquisitions,
divestitures and lease renewals.
- Develop, manage and direct a program concerned with
identifying, analyzing and evaluating risks and exposures which
could result in substantial losses to the company and take
appropriate action to control and minimize the loss potential.
Supervise and evaluate physical inspections of company-owned
property by risk.
- Develop and monitor a system of equitable allocation of
premiums, claim costs, and manage the internal claims management
system related cost to subsidiary operationsRequired education,
experience, and skills:
- Bachelor's degree in a related field.
- 10 years of risk management experience in a progressive
capacity, including prior management of an enterprise risk
- Good analytical skills, excellent communication skills, ability
to work independently, and make sound decisions.
- Associate Risk Management (ARM) and/or Certificate in Property
