250 employees worldwide based in Germany, Netherlands, France, the
UK, USA and Canada. PlanET's portfolio covers all areas of biogas
technology including Aerobic Digestors and RNG systems from initial
planning, design, construction to on-site service and remote
support.For the continued expansion of its North American
operations, PlanET is looking for a Construction Manager to join
our team. Reporting to the Operations Manager, the selected
candidate will be expected to handle all aspects of construction
support and resource allocation to our
customers.Responsibilities:
- Ensure that safety of PlanET employees, PlanET subcontractors,
and customers is paramount by implementation of PlanET Safety
Program rules.
- Manage projects to completion in adherence to the contracts to
ensure no negative financial impacts to the company. Create and
maintain Master Project Schedule (update weekly)
- Manage and oversee work sites for all new construction,
coordinating site activities and assuring that all disciplines
directly involved in the project are in phase with the project
goals and objectives
- Oversee a team of Technical Field Advisors and allocate
resources to projects based project milestones, customer needs
ect..
- Oversee and provide direction to general contractors,
subcontractors, and vendors when doing ensuring quality standards
are met
- Prepare and manage estimates, budgets, timetables, and
resources
- Proactively identify, mitigate, and track recurring
construction issues
- Adhere to legal regulations, building and safety codes, and
other requirements
- Collaborate with engineers, and other specialists, and hire
full-time and part-time employees as needed
- Attend coordination and progress meetings; make regular trips
to sites during construction including bid walks, preconstruction
walks, in-progress site visits, punch walks, and construction
closeout
- Conduct and document quality assurance and safety inspections
throughout the construction process, assuring working environment
is maintained at acceptable levels, and tools and equipment are in
good working condition
- Maintain and update work procedures and preconstruction
documents, and monitor contract obligations with a goal of building
relationships with reliable contractors and vendors
- Respond to work delays, emergencies, and other project
disruptionsRequirements:Qualifications:
- 3+ years' experience in management of industrial construction
projects
- Knowledge of construction methods and technologies, and ability
to interpret technical drawings and contracts
- Knowledge of building code requirements and scheduling
methods
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously with a
constant eye on quality
- Knowledge of jobsite safety practices required
- Strong organization skills and ability to adhere to tight
timelines
- Frequent travel and extended travel (Up to 75%).
- Results driven with strong communication and organizational
skills.
- A self-starter and an independent worker
- Strong proficiency with Microsoft Suite of products
- Must have valid driver's license and have the ability to work
in Canada and the United States
- Ability to speak, read, and write German would be an
asset.Working Conditions:
- This job operates both indoors and outdoors in areas that are
not environmentally controlled.
- This job may be exposed to weather or under cover and in close
physical proximity with others.
- Exposure to hazardous conditions and equipment.Physical
Requirements:
- The worker is required to have close visual acuity to perform
an activity such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures;
transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; extensive reading;
visual inspection involving small defects, small parts, and/or
operation of machines.
- Must be able to sit and/or stand for up to 8 hours a day.
- Spend time bending, kneeling, crouching, reaching, pulling,
pushing, lifting, grasping, or twisting the body.
- Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20
pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force
