Assistant Director of Nursing SHIFT: Full-Time, Days BENEFITS: Weekly Paychecks Same-Day Pay Options Health, Dental, Life Insurance Shift Differentials Weekend Pick-Up Shift Enhancements Referral Bonus up to $500/referral Tuition Assistance No-Frills Pay Options Retirement/Pension/401k Clinically Complex Positions Flexible Schedules JOB DESCRIPTION: Under the supervision of the Administrator, has authority, responsibility, and accountability for the functions, activities, and training of the nursing services staff, in addition to the supervision of the Therapy Department and its' functions within the facility. In the absence of the Administrator, assumes responsibility for the facility. Is responsible for the overall management of resident care 24 hours a day, seven (7) days per week. RESPONSIBILITIES: Assist the Director of Nursing in planning, developing, organizing, implementing, evaluating, and directing the day-to-day functions of the nursing department, in accordance with current rules, regulations, and guidelines Participate in developing, maintaining, and updating our written policies and procedures that govern the day-to-day functions of department Act as a team member, team leader, and supervisor to ensure work is accomplished and quality care is delivered Support team members and lead in a way that celebrates and encourages hard work and success Ensure that all nursing personnel are following their respective job descriptions Perform administrative duties such as completing medical forms, reports, evaluations, studies, charting, etc. Help determine staffing needs Provide direct nursing care as necessary Additional responsibilities as assigned REQUIREMENTS: Maintains a current, valid New York State Nursing License as a registered professional nurse, in good standing. Possesses a minimum five (5) years of experience in long term care with two (2) years experience in nursing service administration. Additional education or experience in such areas as rehabilitative or geriatric nursing is preferred. Possesses strong knowledge of state, federal and local regulations as they pertain to long term care. Is employed full-time and serves only one facility in such capacity. Maintains rapport with outside medical professionals. Successfully completes facility conducted orientation, mandatory training and inservice programs. Must be at least 18 years of age. 8. Must meet health assessment requirements, including two stage Mantoux skin test. Must be capable of performing the essential functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodations. Must be able to communicate in English, both verbally and in writing, and possess sufficient communication skills to perform the tasks required.
