Job Description:
Overview:Responsible strategic direction and management of the
Human Resources Business Partner Center of Excellence (COE) within
the Human Resources (HR) function.Primary Responsibilities:
- In collaboration with the Chief Human Resource Officer (CHRO)
and other key HR leaders, develops actionable HR strategies and
tactical plans to support the achievement of enterprise-wide goals.
Works cross-functionally to achieve business outcomes and improve
organizational effectiveness.
- Lead Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP) team including
setting of annual team strategy and goals, prioritization of
activities, implementation of programs to increase skills and
development of HRBP team.
- Ensure collaboration amongst HRBP team, other HR COEs and
bank-wide businesses and corporate functions.
- Ensure consistent service delivery model for the HRBP
team.
- Provide strategic human capital planning and engagement advice
to senior leaders throughout the bank.
- Provide oversight of critical annual processes required of
employees and managers across the bank including annual objective
setting, performance management, compensation cycle, required
training programs and talent review processes.
- Provide insight and advice to the CHRO on various topics
related to programs and people management.
- Provide leadership and expertise for bank-wide and large-scale
initiatives.
- Oversee HRBP efforts to support employee initiatives that
foster an engaging environment throughout the bank, including
Employee Engagement, Recognition, Performance Management, and
diversity initiatives.
- Provide leadership as it relates to change management
initiatives to include input on - communications to articulate and
support a clear, compelling vision for the use and adoption of the
tools, policies, and processes.
- Exercise usual authority of a manager concerning staffing,
performance appraisals, promotions, salary recommendations,
performance management and terminations.
- Understand and adhere to the Company's risk and regulatory
standards, policies and controls in accordance with the Company's
Risk Appetite. -Identify risk-related issues needing escalation to
management.
- Promote an environment that supports diversity and reflects the
M&T Bank brand.
- Maintain M&T internal control standards, including timely
implementation of internal and external audit points together with
any issues raised by external regulators as applicable.

Responsibilities:Be a highly trusted advisor to the Chief Human
Resource Officer (CHRO) and partner with leaders on the most
strategic, complex and ambiguous scenarios, including
organizational design, scaling, retention strategies, leadership
development, manager effectiveness, performance, engagement and
culture transformation.Collaborate on and lead various talent
management and engagement projects/initiatives and support efforts
to shape a culture of engagement and foster and maintain strong
internal relationships with business leaders.Partner closely with
other functions and HR COEs including Talent Acquisition, Learning
& Development and Total Rewards to design, pilot and scale high
impact and innovative programs (e.g. performance and talent
management, compensation planning).Managerial/Supervisory
Responsibilities:Responsible for HRBP COE (35+ FTEs) with direct
management responsibility for team of HRBP Directors and
Managers.Education and Experience Required:Bachelor's degree in
Business, Human Resources, Psychology or applicable field. 12
years' Human Resources or other relevant experience, or in lieu of
a degree, a combined minimum of 16 years' higher education and/or
work experience.6 years' management experience.Strong management,
leadership, interpersonal and facilitation skills.Excellent verbal,
written, and presentation communication skills.Excellent
problem-solving skills to coordinate various HR functions and to
respond to changes in the regulatory arena.Sound analytical
abilities and judgment to recommend policies and procedures to
conform with state and federal laws/regulations and to research HR
policies and practices to achieve Bank's goals.Ability to interact
and collaborate with all levels of personnel with tact and
diplomacy.Strong negotiating skills.Ability to handle conflict from
varying parties, up to and including senior management.Strong
organizational and resource management skills.Applicable assessment
tool certifications i.e. Benchmarks Assessment (360), FIRO-B or
Myers Briggs.Education and Experience Preferred:Master's
