Job SummaryColony Hardware is currently seeking a Territory Account Manager to join--our sales team. Reporting to the Regional Sales Manager or Branch Manager, the Territory Account Manager has primary responsibility for growing sales by increasing the breadth and depth of products and services that existing customer buy from Colony, and by finding new customers through referrals and prospecting.--Success in this position requires constant and consistent contact with decision makers at contractors' offices and jobsites by telephone and in person. The Territory Account Manager is expected to broaden our product offering at target accounts by leveraging existing successes and making the customer aware of our unmatched customer service and delivery capabilities. Territory will be the Buffalo, NY area.--Major ResponsibilitiesUses organizational and time management skills to maximize the number of effective customer "touches" per dayEffectively communicates and convinces potential buyers why to buy from Colony instead of the competitionDedicate after hour time to learning the features, benefits and applications of our products by participating in sales and product training events and Evergreen online and off site training modules. Put this training to use by incorporating hands on product demonstrations in the field as a regular part of the sales processUtilize our vendor/supplier representatives on a consistent basis to grow sales by making joint selling callsUse the Colony CRM system as a tool to record daily activities and facilitate transaction follow upUse Phocas sales analytics tool regularly to identify selling and product opportunities for growthDevelop a strong and positive working relationship with the inside sales team.Demonstrate a strong sense of urgency in following up on quotes and leads.Regular and accurate communication with Branch or General Manager is essential to success. Large potential customers, quotations, problems and opportunities need to be communicated immediately and accurately.Demonstrate the ability to cultivate and build customer relationships where success is defined as Colony being the first and only phone call when ordering tools, supplies, and safety products. Build these relationships through sales professionalism and skill, while enhancing them by spending time with our customers outside of the work environment.Take the initiative to intercede and resolve issues related to problems with orders and/or customer accounts receivable collections.Demonstrate the ability to do group presentations either for products or prospective customersOther duties as assigned--Minimum RequirementsHigh school diploma or equivalentCollege degree in Business disciplines preferredMinimum of 2 to 3 years of successful outside sales experience, preferably selling similar productsValid driver's license. Driver's record must show a record of sustained safe driving.Excellent communication skills including speaking, reading and writing in the English languageProficiency in use of computer include all Microsoft programs (Outlook, Word, Excel, Power Point)--Essential functions:Ability to enter and exit transportation vehicle several times per dayAbility to lift up to 75 lbs.Ability to physically navigate construction sites which may have irregular or unfinished surfacesPhysical dexterity for use of computer and demo equipmentAbility to review and interpret computer images and written documentsAnalytical ability including basic math skillsAbility to listen to and interpret customers needsCommunication skills including speaking, read and writing--Equipment Used:Laptop computer or tablet, keyboard and mouseTelephone, smart phone and faxDemo equipment including power tools and safety productsAdditional Comments:Must be able to travel long distances to meetings, seminars, training sessions and customer calls.--May also require occasional overnight trips.--Excellent attendance, punctuality and a customer service mindset are mandatory.--Colony Hardware is proud to be an Equal Employment Opportunity and Affirmative Action employer.
