This role will spearhead and implement the marketing programs of the new venture company that drives lead generation and user acquisition, including but not limited to, webpage content development and implementation, search engine optimization, paid media campaigns, email marketing, public relations, and events. The Sales Manager will work alongside the product and marketing teams to execute the go-to-market strategy. You will be responsible for spearheading and implementing the sales programs of the company that will assess, build and manage a sales pipeline of targets across relevant channels to deliver on the company's growth objectives Primary Responsibilities: SALES STRATEGY - Maintain a deep understanding of target segments and associated behaviors, e.g. segment specific financial service needs to support those efforts. - Design end-to-end sales approach accounting for sales capabilities of the corporate partner and alongside other digital approaches. - Formulate sales performance KPIs in close collaboration with the President and execute against set KPIs. - Work with internal partners to develop compelling sales strategies and processes that further support start-up product sales, while managing risk. SALES EXECUTION - Build qualified sales team to augment the capabilities of the corporate partner to deliver a new product to target market - Prospect for potential customers using various direct methods such as networking and lead generation tools. - Qualify prospects against company criteria for ideal customers. - Consult with prospects about business challenges and requirements, as well as the range of options and cost benefits of each. - Based on identified customer needs, establish relationships with new customers to sell the product to meet these needs. Other Responsibilities: - Leads the implementation of employee training related to sales strategy through direct reports. - Lead process improvement initiatives, advising senior management. - Oversees the development of communication and training resources. - Leads the development of project plans and directs resources to align with sales strategy needs. - Understand and adhere to the Companys risk and regulatory standards, policies and controls in accordance with the Companys Risk Appetite. Identify risk-related issues needing escalation to management. - Promote an environment that supports diversity and reflects the M & T Bank brand. - Maintain M & T internal control standards, including timely implementation of internal and external audit points together with any issues raised by external regulators as applicable. - Complete other related duties as assigned. Supervisory/Managerial Responsibilities: Supervises a team Education and Experience Required: - Bachelors degree and 5 years relevant experience, - OR in lieu of a degree, - A combined minimum of 9 years higher education and/or work experience including 5 years relevant experience - 1 year of Management Experience Education and Experience Preferred: - 5+ years of Sales experience - Expertise in B2B, business service sales - Experience managing and optimizing growth strategies in a hands-on sales role - Experience scaling digital business through cross channel customer acquisition and retention initiatives - Ability to build and maintain lasting relationships - Deep knowledge and experience working in a regulated financial services environment - Experience in accounting, banking, or legal services preferred - Strong communication and coaching skills with an ability to write in a clear, straightforward, and professional manner - Ability to handle multiple projects and tasks and meet tight deadlines - Ability to make decisions and work collaboratively with others to solve problems - Ability to build and maintain lasting business relationships - Excellent stakeholder management skills Location Buffalo, New York, United States of America
