Sensing, Targeting and Survivability Division is seeking to hire a
Sr. Staff Systems Engineer to join its team of diverse and
qualified individuals. This position will be located in Buffalo, NY
and will support the state-of-the-art Simulation Systems solutions.
Northrop Grumman is looking for a Sr. Staff Systems Engineer who
will own the responsibility for leading multiple engineering
Integrated Product Teams (IPTs) to meet all program contractual
requirements and deliverables owned by the IPTs on schedule and
within cost. This role has the authority to make engineering
project management decisions and recommendations that have an
impact on program performance. This role reports to the Site
Systems Engineering Integration and Test (SEIT) Manager and works
with the program Chief Engineer, Lead Systems Engineer/SEIT Lead,
and the Program Management Office (PMO) to deliver on program and
stakeholder commitments. Roles & Responsibilities: Monitor the
day-to-day execution across the engineering IPTs to deliver program
engineering deliverables on time and within cost, while meeting
contractual programmatic and technical requirements and stakeholder
expectations and measure and report Earned Value (EV) performance.
Ensure technical quality, performance, cost, schedule, and risk and
opportunity management across all engineering IPTs on the program,
in alignment with Engineering and Division processes, program
policies, and industry best standards Ensure that the IPTs adhere
to the Statement of Work (SOW) and execute rigorous change
management Ensure IPTs identify and coordinate both the staffing
and resources needed to meet program objectives with Functional
Management to complete product team deliverables Lead engineering
Basis of Estimates (BOEs)and schedule development across the
Engineering IPTs for program and new business, and support formal
program reviews, including Proposal Signoffs, Program Start Up
Reviews and Integrated Baseline Reviews (IBRs). This includes
ensuring that there are no gaps in the engineering baselines, and
that there is no duplication of effort. Ensure IPTs coordinate and
collaborate with Global Supply Chain, Manufacturing and Operations,
and Integration & Test to achieve product team deliverables Basic
Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in a Science, Technology,
Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) discipline from an accredited
university and 14 years of experience or a Master’s Degree (with a
BS in STEM or a Master’s in STEM) with 12 years of experience or a
PhD with 10 years of experience. US Citizenship Must have a
current/active DoD Secret Clearance with an investigation date
within the last 6 years. Secret clearance is required to start.
Must be able to maintain this level of clearance for continued
employment. 10 years of experience and knowledge in Electronic
Warfare (EW) Threat Simulation 5 years of experience as managing
Systems or functional engineers. 5 years of experience managing
requirements in DOORS, practices, and methods. 5 years of
demonstrated program execution skills; demonstrated ability to meet
program technical, cost, and schedule milestones. Earned Value
Management (EVM) or as a Control Account Manager (CAM) experience
Preferred Qualifications: Master’s Degree in a STEM discipline
Large scale / complex system development experience across multiple
phases of a development program: preliminary design, detailed
design, integration and test, verification and sell off, transition
to production Experience with technical reviews for large scale and
complex system development Experience with implementing and using
model-based systems engineering tools, practices, and methods
Communication and leadership skills and experience leading small
teams in a dynamic work environment Primary Level Salary Range:
$175,300.00 - $262,900.00 The above salary range represents a
general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of
factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and
responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience,
education, skills and current market conditions. Depending on the
position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift
differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.
Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as
well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in
Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term
Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of
benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability
insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off
(PTO) for vacation and/or personal business. The application period
