Job Description Job Description Job Title : Machinist Location : North Tonawanda, NY Hire Type : Temp to Hire Pay Range : $30.00 - $38.00/hour Work Type : Full-time Work Model : Onsite Work Schedule : Monday – Friday, 7am – 3:30pm Recruiter Contact : Samantha Marranca, smarranca@imaginestaffing.net Nature & Scope: Positional Overview The Imagine Group is recruiting for a Machinist on behalf of our client, a leading manufacturer and supplier of specialized materials and solutions, with a strong presence in North Tonawanda, New York . In this role, you will be responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining CNC and/or manual machining equipment to produce precision parts that meet exact specifications. You will read and interpret blueprints, perform quality inspections, troubleshoot machining issues, and collaborate with team members to ensure production, safety, and quality standards are consistently met. Role & Responsibility: Tasks That Will Lead to Your Success Program mills or lathes by building & entering instructions (code), including all aspects of job set-up, calculations, tools, operating parameters and dimensional validation. Verify settings by measuring positions, first-run part, and sample workpieces, adhering to appropriate standards. Maintain specifications by observing process & part quality, taking measurements, detecting malfunctions, troubleshooting processes, adjusting and reprogramming controls, sharpening and replacing worn tools, adhering to quality assurance procedures and processes. Perform set-up and tear down/clean-up of machining centers. Utilize measuring devices – including but not limited to micrometers, calipers, tape measure, scales, etc. Perform pre- and post-machining inspections to verify critical fabrication or material tolerance requirements. Follow all lawful employer safety and health rules and regulations, and wear or use required protective equipment while working. Report hazardous conditions to the employer. Report any job-related injury or illness to the employer and seek treatment promptly. Skills & Experience Qualifications That Will Help You Thrive 2-3 years setup & operate experience 3-5 years relevant experience (experience in “job shop” environment preferred). Ability to read/interpret engineered drawings and willingness to interface with engineering department. Must be proficient with measuring equipment Strong mechanical aptitude & math skills required Rigging experience a plus.
