Job Description:
The Mechanical Engineer is responsible for the design and
develop conceptual designs for the company's new products and
maintenance of existing products. This person prepares detailed,
production-quality drawings and documentation of components,
assemblies, and fixtures, according to industry and corporate
standards. Define and implement design modifications for existing
products.This is an on-site position. KEY RESPONSIBLITIES: Create
solid models and CAD solid models for new products, maintenance for
existing products and for projects under developmentCalculate
tolerance stack-ups of sub-assemblies and assembliesPrepare
detailed, production-quality CAD drawingsReview drawings for
content and correctnessApply analysis, design-for-assembly and cost
criteria throughout the designsPerform DFMEA and other analysis on
products and componentsMaintain electronic and hard copies of
existing and new-product documentationWork with product teams,
project teams, manufacturing personnel and suppliers to achieve
goals and solve problemsWork with testing and regulatory agencies
to obtain agencies appropriate regulatory certificationsDevelop,
maintain and follow internal and global standards.Work with sales
and customer service to resolve issues with customer driven
needs.Provide input on process improvement opportunities including
documentation improvements EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: Bachelors of
Science degree in mechanical engineering requiredStrong oral and
written communication skills Flexibility to take on assignments
outside the office: lab, shop, outside visits, as neededAbility to
think clearly and logically, analyze quantitatively, problem solve
and define technical requirementsAbility to handle multiple tasks
and prioritize accordinglyProven success in working on individual
projects and team projects with high level of personal
accountabilityExperience and ability to use SolidWorks 3D, Excel,
Word, and Power PointTravel required, estimate 10% (Some
international travel may be required; ie. CAN)Ability to
communicate with individuals by phone, email and face-to-faceHigh
Performance Cultural fit with the U.S. team is requiredKnowledge of
