Job Description:
This position is part of the IT team and is in touch with the
latest technology and software programs.
Responsible for administration, operation, and support of the
Probation & Pretrial Services Automated Case Management Tracking
System (PACTS) application and ensures the accuracy andintegrity of
the database and extraction.
Acts as point of contact for PACTS users within the U.S. Probation
Office seeking services, training, guidance, or assistance in all
areas of data processing and serves as the technical representative
to study and resolve problems related to PACTS.
Write, run, and distribute PACTS routine and special request
statistical reports for managers and the court.
Develop system features to satisfy end user needs. Make adaptations
to a national system and/or participate in the planning. Develop,
modify, and run reports. Execute implementation of plans. Adapt
software and documentation; perform testing; establish operating
procedures; devise security for software and data. Establish and
calculate optimum values for database parameters.
Develop and implement improvement plans, with minimal
disruption.Develop data models. Maintain web functions. Develop and
maintain SharePoint sites and applications.Test databases, correct
errors, and make modifications. Perform data backups and disaster
recovery operations. Perform system startup and shutdown
procedures; maintain control records. Provide user support,
training, and problem resolution for systems-related problems.
Specify users and user access level.Inventory responsibilities
including receiving, tracking, and updating IT equipment in a
nationally supported database system.Manage and coordinate the
repair of hardware including PCs and other communications devices
and printers. Install, troubleshoot, and configure access to
applications.Qualification RequirementsHigh school diploma or
equivalent and at least two years of specialized experience.Strong
customer service skills and the ability to deal with a wide variety
of people tactfully and courteously.Excellent written and verbal
communication skills.Ability to function as a team player in a
fast-paced, team-oriented office environment with frequent
interruptions.Strong organizational skills and the ability to
handle multiple assignments with frequent interruptions.Accuracy
and attention to detail.Specialized ExperienceProgressively
responsible experience that is in, or closely related to, the work
of the position that has provided the knowledge, skills, and
abilities to successfully perform the duties of the
position.Preferred Qualifications/Court Preferred SkillsCandidates
with experience and a bachelor's degree in CS, MIS, other relevant
field of study preferred.Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365,
including collaboration tools such as SharePoint, OneDrive,
OneNote, and Teams.Proficiency in data analysis tools like Tableau
and Microsoft PowerBi.Cybersecurity knowledge and experience are
all strongly preferred.Organizational RelationshipThis shared
services position is assigned to the Clerk's Office, U.S. District
Court, Western District of New York, and reports to the Director of
