This position will support research and development of the next-generation electronics thermal management solution.KEY RESPONSIBILITIES---Design, source supplies, build, and operate electronics-cooling testbeds with application-relevance for understanding thermal and computational performance with a firm understanding of the underlying physics---Conduct experiments for data center thermal management involving: direct liquid cooling; liquid cold-plate cooling; single and two-phase immersion cooling; fluid or thermal systems analyses or testing---Serve as local expert for evaluation and understanding of fluid material compatibility, thermal properties (e.g. thermal resistance, heat-transfer coefficient, boiling-incipience, etc) and electrical/computational performance criteria---Work closely with cross-functional R&D teams to develop novel and unprecedented fluids for data center cooling; measurement of discrete fluid properties such as dielectric constant and material compatibility; and application-relevant data analysis to identify critical factors for system performance and lifetimeYOU MUST HAVE---M.S. in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science.---PhD may be considered without industry experience.---1+ years of experience with immersion-cooled systems with thermal.WE VALUE---PhD in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, or related field.---R&D experience with Immersion-cooled systems with thermal, material compatibility and engineering applications, such as thermal resistance, heat transfer co-efficient,---Ability to conduct material compatibility experiments such as Soxhlet extractions and development knowledge/hypothesis based on results---Fundamental understanding of structure-property relations to guide molecule design towards next-generation E-cooling fluids.---Ability to perform calculations and simulations including thermodynamic properties (heat-transfer coefficient and resistance) and CFD---Ability to read, write, and understand P&ID diagrams---Demonstrated capability of designing experiments to enable clear results that drive decisions in an industrial R&D environment---Ability to ensure a high level of scientific rigor is applied to all projects---Desire to work collaboratively with many internal teams in new molecule ideation, discovery, creation, and application---Familiarity with statistical analyses and Design of Experiments (DOE)---A passion for scientific curiosity and creativity---An open, honest, and team-oriented personality---Eagerness to get involved in hands-on work, with a positive attitude and desire to acquire new skills quicklyAM202020Additional InformationJOB ID: HRD178161Category: EngineeringLocation: 20 Peabody St,Buffalo,New York,14210,United StatesExemptGlobal (ALL)Honeywell is an equal opportunity employer.
