We encourage critical thinking at all levels of the organization, and enjoy working with others that are dedicated, high-performing, and able to hold themselves and others accountable.We are seeking a Release Train Engineer - as a servant leader - to help CloudCheckr Engineering grow a world-class development organization with 8 - 12 scrum teams working independently in a common code base to build scale-able, robust, resilient features for our cloud management SaaS product. Primary responsibilities include Engineering work management visualization in clear alignment with product value streams. This includes evolving and establishing new tooling for reporting out agile team, project and product delivery status and progress. In addition, the person in this role will provide immersive agile methodology training in coordination with Software Engineers, Quality Engineers, Product Management, DevOps Engineers, and Architects. As a Release Train Engineer you will have a significant impact on the culture of CloudCheckr and the success of our business.Expectations:

• Facilitate planning and summary reporting for projects (and their expected product outcomes) spanning multiple agile teams within the portfolio, and be responsible for artifacts reflecting plans, progress, issues and risks.
• Facilitate scrum-of-scrums for purposes of managing inter-team dependencies, collaborating to remove barriers, and collectively mitigating delivery risks
• Improve ritual consistency and efficacy within agile teams and the engineering organization
• Work with product management to ensure teams understand goals and commitments for each sprint / release
• Help teams improve backlog decomposition and estimation
• Use metrics to show continuous improvement across the agile development lifecycle
• Help employees and stakeholders understand and enact agile and empirical product development
• Coach the agile teams in self-organization and cross-functionality
  • Consolidate, triage, and make recommendations based on retrospective feedback
  • Cause change that increases the productivity of a given agile/scrum team
  • Work with other leaders to increase the effectiveness of the application of agile/scrum in the organizationFacilitate Scrum events as requested or needed
  • Facilitate discussions in clarifying manager, scrum master and product owner role
  • Actively support and encourage improvements in approaches to automated CI/CD/Test
  • Build assets that help those outside Engineering understand and adopt agile mindset for the betterment of product delivery and customer satisfaction
  • Other duties/projects as assignedTop Candidates will have Experiences Such As:
    • Worked closely with multiple agile development teams simultaneously to create consistent reports out for product backlog refinement, estimates/forecasts/predictions, and work decomposition.
    • Established an agile metrics baseline and have used metrics to optimize execution.
    • Defined metrics, and associated data collection within Jira in a consistent manner, while applying lean principles.
    • Worked directly with both Kanban and Scrum teams.
    • Configured and managed Jira workflows, agile boards, and sprints supporting the agile development process.
    • Built information radiators in the Atlassian suite (or comparable).
    • Used quality assurance metrics to better understand how to guide quality practices within an agile team in order to build quality into a product.
    • Demonstrated strong presentation and communication skills.
    • Various agile practices, such as: story decomposition, story mapping, release planning, TDD/BDD/ATDD, workshop facilitation, project chartering/kickoff, focus group facilitation.Qualifications:
      • Computer Science, Software Engineering, or similar degree required, or equivalent industry experience
      • 3-5 Years working in an Agile Role as Scrum Master, Product Owner or Coach
      • 1-2 years training teams in agile methodologies and role based training
      • 1-2 years working across multiple agile teams for planning and reporting, facilitating Scrum of Scrums, etc.
      • Experience and appreciation for multiple schools defining agile, such as: "Scrum Guides" / scrum.org, PMI, SAFe, agilealliance/scrumalliance, Large-Scale Scrum (LeSS/HUGE - Larman/Vodde), Fowler's "Agile Software Guide", etc
      • Certifications as Scrum Master or Product owner desired (attributed by well reputed organization such as scrum.org or scrumalliance.org)
