BASIC FUNCTION: Conduct routine installation and maintenance on cellular radio sites and associated equipment within the cell sites. Including but not limited to, installation of cellular radios, carrier (wiring and testing) installation, testing of power equipment, and cabling and testing of cell sites. Work with tier 2 customer care team to resolve customer trouble tickets. Assist with site construction management. Assist with site acquisition processes including, site selection, search rings, zoning, and construction management DIMENSIONS: Part of small network operation team and reports to Lead technician in a growing cellular network company. This position has no subordinates. KNOWLEDGE: High school diploma or general education diploma, and a minimum of two years technical degree or equivalent experience. Must be able to learn all aspects of the job by on the job training, seminars, vocational schools or classes (i.e. manufacturers training classes, specialized training in basic electronics, switching knowledge, etc) reviewing instruction manuals, etc. Deal with AC and DC power. Past experience as cell site technician HUMAN RELATIONS SKILLS: Basic courtesy and diplomatic abilities are important to this position. Must be committed to providing exceptional service at all times. It will be necessary to effectively communicate problems and present solutions to both management and customers. PROBLEM SOLVING: Ability to work without direct supervision up to 98% of the time and applying specific technical knowledge to a variety of complex procedures. Ability to work with mathematical concepts in relation to practical situations. Ability to define issues, collect data and establish facts. Must be able to read, analyze and interpret various technical reports. Will respond to common inquiries from management and present required information. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Must be able to work extended schedules and twenty-four (24) hour on-call status when assigned. Noise level in the work environment varies from moderate to loud. This work environment is often a high-stress situation. This work environment entails being subjected to seasonal temperature changes Ability to operate a motor vehicle. Must have valid drivers license and a responsible driving record. Must be able to lift light, medium and heavy loads.
