Lindsey McCarthy with Robert Half has a client in the Construction/Contractor industry that is searching for a Full Charge Bookkeeper to join their company. A demonstrated ability in overseeing cash flow, financial statement preparation, audit, full cycle A/P, payroll, bank reconciliations, journal entries, and month-end close, will be critical to the success of this Full Charge Bookkeeper role. The Full Charge Bookkeeper may also manage clerical staff. You might be a qualified candidate for this Bookkeeper role if you are a self-driven and organized accounting professional who thrives in a deadline-driven environment with minimal supervision. This permanent employment opportunity is based in the Buffalo, New York area.
Your responsibilities

• 
  
• 
  Produce monthly reconciliations, financial statements and all supporting documents
  
  
• 
  Oversee monthly accounting close
  
  
• 
  Maintain Accounts Payable
  
  
• 
  Familiar with Accounts Receivable
  
  
• 
  Create cash flow projections, as needed
  
  
• 
  Register budget transfers
  
  
• 
  Work on special projects occasionally
  
  
• 
  Ready subcontractor 1099's, and any other IRS year-end requirement
  
  
• 
  Prepare cash account journal entries including loans, taxes, bank fees, 401(k) deductions, etc.
  
  
• 
  Proficient in credit card management and reconciliation
  
  
• 
  Keep sales tax records and create and file quarterly payments
  
  
  Requirements - Self-starter, ability to identify issues and resolve problems
  
  • 
    
  • 
    Excellent written, verbal and social communication skills
    
    
  • 
    Financial analysis experience
    
    
  • 
    Foundational knowledge in general ledger
    
    
  • 
    Accounts Receivable (AR) experience preferred
    
    
  • 
    Solid understanding of Accounts Payable (AP)
    
    
  • 
    BA/BS in Accounting, Finance, Economics or other business-related field preferred
    
    
  • 
    Ability to prioritize deals and adapt to quick changes while remaining diligent, and to thrive in a dynamic, high pressure environment
    
    
  • 
    Highly organized and self-motivated
    
    
  • 
    Proven analytical skills with ability to implement solutions and vendor management experience with good organizational skills
    
    
  • 
    Relevant accounting experience, including as a Bookkeeper preferred
    
    
  • 
    Commitment and abilities to meet critical business deadlines
    
    
  • 
    Excellent attention to detail
