The Opportunity Delaware North is hiring a full time Accounting Analyst to join our team at our Global Headquarters in Buffalo, New York. In this role, you will be responsible for a variety of tasks including journal entries, month end close, balance sheet account reconciliations, financial reporting, and inquiry escalations. You will work in partnership with our various subsidiary field operations personnel to help facilitate monthly transactions and identify opportunities for process improvements. This position resides in our headquarters in Buffalo, NY and will be a hybrid role in the office a few days per week. At Delaware North, we care about our associates.   • Receive, investigate, and process nonroutine inquiries and disputes that have not been resolved.
  • Perform balance sheet and income statement reconciliations.
  • Prepare record to report (RTR) process related financial, statistical, and technical reports.
  • Identify Delaware North client exceptions to the standard RTR processes and determine ways to gradually shift towards Delaware North's standard practices.
  • Collaborate with the Managed Service Provider to continuously improve handoffs or work transitions related to the RTR process.
  • Support RTR Lead as functional specialist in testing and implementing financial system upgrades and patches.
  • Work toward identifying potential process improvements in the RTR process.
  • Collaborate with corporate functions across the organization to ensure any required changes to policies, procedures, and processes are implemented.
  • Assist senior accountants and managers in coordinating and executing special projects aimed at centralizing various processes and controls.
  • Collaborate with data owners to align on process and data issues. Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or similar business-related curriculum required.
  • 1-2 years of accounting/finance experience preferred.
  • Strong computer skills, including MS Office and PeopleSoft Financials or similar accounting software.
  • Deep understanding of accounting functions and processes.
  • Expertise in driving continuous improvement and business process management.
  • Skilled in facilitation, detailed collaboration, and effective communication.
