Sapphire Healthcare is actively seeking hire a full-time
Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to work as a Regional
Liason/Infection Preventionist. The IP will coordinate and work
closely with an interdisciplinary team to develop and maintain a
system of care that promotes sound and scientific infection
prevention principles and practices at a number of related regional
skilled nursing facilities The Infection Preventionist will ensure
the efficient delivery of high quality nursing care for the
residents these facilities. In addition, the ICS will serve as a
nursing practice expert, teacher and resource person in assisting
nursing staff to meet patient care needs. He/she will aid in
developing team members knowledge and skills in the planning,
implementation and the evaluation of patient care programs. We

would love to meet you!Responsibilities:Plan, develop, organize,
implement, evaluate, coordinate, and direct our infection control
program in accordance with current rules, regulations, and
guidelines that govern such requirements in nursing care
facilities.Ensure that the facility is in compliance with current
CDC, OSHA, and local regulations concerning infection control or
standard/universal precautions.Develop, maintain, and periodically
update infection control precautions and aseptic technique that
successfully correct problem areas.Monitor infection control
practices and procedures to ensure that all personnel are
implementing our standard operating procedures for tasks involving
exposure to blood/body fluids.Serve on, participate in, and attend
Infection Control Committee meetings.Monitoring the health of
patients to identify signs of infection and disease
progression.Educating staff and residents about proper hygiene
techniques and infection control guidelines, encouraging them to
practice good health habits such as hand washing, dressing changes,
etc.Managing infectious disease cases in collaboration with other
healthcare professionals.QUALIFICATIONS:Current Licensed Practical
Nurse (LPN)License by the State of New YorkLong Term Care
Experience Preferred.Must have good evaluation skills, ability to
communicate both verbally and in writing and be
self-motivated.Prefer if CDC course on Long Term Care Preventionist
has been completed.Prefer training as an Infection Control
